***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I've done the second part, adding it to stirfry instead of adding meat. I've found that it tastes better AND it's a heckuva lot harder to overcook it when you using eggs instead of strips of meat. I have bad luck with meat in stirfry.

Kass, I assume you use wheat-free soy sauce? Do you have a preferred brand? I haven't eaten stirfry since I was told that I have a wheat allergy because I couldn't find wheat free soy sauce.

I'm considering scrambled eggs as meat in chili to help stretch the ground beef. Think that would work?

My Mom has always put Barley in chili - an old Depression-era trick to stretch the "meat" in recipes. My Brothers and I have always had it that way and love it but my Texas DH thinks that and beans in chili is a sin.
I know Barley has Glutten so that won't work for folks with alergies.

Chicken in place of beef for the lasagna. I've not used Alfredo sauce, just tomato paste and seasonings. Maybe the Alfredo sauce would be good.

This semester at work I sometimes don't even have time to go pee let alone check the BYC! Thank the Lord for Chichens and my tolerant DH! Many children owe their lives to them!

I do a spinach Alfredo lasagna occasionally, I say occasionally because I seem to be the only one that actually likes it, it is meatless, but dh might be more into it with chicken. He hates all meatless dishes I make, thinks I am starving him. I use to Meatless Mondays, but got tired of fighting with the family to eat dinner!

Any sewing gurus still awake? I am pouring ceramic baby doll heads that look like baby piggy heads. I need to find a cloth body pattern that will be easy and not require a ton of stuffing. I found a pattern called baby bowes that's essentially two pieces. You tie off the legs, arms, and neck, which leaves you with a realistically jointed doll. If I left off the cloth head and used the ceramic piggy head, do you think this would work?

Should work, but you will probably need to add a draw string casing to the neck, or some other way to secure it. The other issue I think the tab thing that will go in the body that might cause the head to be floppy if the body is only slightly stuffed.

Kassaundra, I've drooled over your veggie pics.. you must have one green thumb lady! LOVE the idea of using zuchini cut in julienne strips for noodles idea! I'm not allergic to gluten, but I've come to the realization that if I ever plan on getting to, and maintaining a healthy weight, I'm going to have to eat low carb. Would you mind sharing how you cook your zuchini after slicing it? Do you salt it and let it set to get some of the moisture out of it? I'm also going to try your idea of frying scrambled eggs in a sheet, to be cut into noodles. Got any other great lc ideas?
Thanks for sharing!
