When I called they were very nice and checked their inventory, but they don't stock the pneumonia vaccine. I ordered from Jeffer's Livestock online.

Great job.

I was at work at Webber last night, and we felt the quake, it was the first one I've ever felt.

If I had a camera and could have figured out how to take a pic of it I would have Okla.

You're right...but not my doing's...I'm at the bottom of the totem-pole. For ABA showing serama HAVE to be between 12-16 oz...plus or minus 20% (depending upon the class)...which means that a pullet under 9.6 oz. is a DQ an a cockerel under 11.2 DQ So it doesn't make any sense for the world's smallest chicken...there may be a different Standard for the silkied serama someday, but not right now. I have to struggle to get mine BIG enough to show.

Why, in my opinion, ruin them by breeding them larger just to show in the aba? If you happen to have one that crops up big enough, then by all means show it. To purposely breed a larger strain

they are tiny birds & should stay tiny. Just my opinion, no offense intended.

I agree with you entirely....somebody messed up when they put that in the Standard...as all colors of serama are recognized by ABA, they will have to follow those weight limits....fortunately, we with silkied serama are still deciding if we want to be a 'variety' of serama (then we have to follow that weight, too) or be a separate breed...in which case we can lower the weight limit...it is being decided now...I like little birds...that's why I mostly show at SCNA shows (underweight classes) and not ABA.

Perhaps after awhile, the SCNA can petition to have the weight changed.

ROFL.. that's hilarious. I thought using Amy Farah Fowler was clever, but no one commented, so I figured I was the only one that watched The Big Bang Theory. I have hens named Penny, Burnadette and Amy Farah Fowler. That show is such a hoot.

Afternoon Everyone!

Well reading all the post this morning a lot of people felt the quake last night. I was talking to one of my friends when it started and had to hold on to the bed to keep from falling. Scared the pajeezers out of me and the cats.

Found my giant cochin hen in the coop with her crop all blown-up. Had to burp her then treated with olive oil, then burp her again. She is not a happy hen right now. I am going to try and get her to eat some yogurt here in a bit. Poor girl she has been through so much already now this.

Other then that it is a beautiful day outside. Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather.

It is one of my husband's favorite shows, but I thought it was your name,

just some sort of wierd coincidence and figured you probably heard some comparison or joke everyday and would be tired of hearing it.
