***OKIES in the BYC III ***

NanaKat-oh my! You were very busy!
Can anyone tell me if these are all male turkeys? There's 2 I *think are male and a question mark by the 3rd. If you guys don't know I'll post on the turkey thread.
This 1st one is the one I'm not sure about. They're 4 1/2 months old now.

Here's all 3:

Yes, I'm making soap for the family for Christmas and no I haven't gotten into selling because of the records I would have to keep.
I give a lot away as gifts and have made a batch or two for the cost of supplies for friends. So far today made about 7 dozen bars in 5 different batches. I like to use nice oils like shea butter, cocoa butter, palm kernal oil, etc. Some of the recipes use lard or tallow along with those oils and some are purely vegetarian castile. My guest room is where I cure soaps and that room smells wonderful.

I look for the length of the snood. Males usually have longer ones that start to lay over their beak.

Yea, the one that gobbles has the big snood. But the others aren't that much smaller than his and they all look like they have red necks. Who'd of thought turkey sexin' would be so difficult?
Should they all 3 be gobbling by now? Probably not at 4 1/2 mo, huh?

Well... For exhibition purposes he is black breasted red and his hens are wheaten, as those are the names given to the coloration in the standard.

Among Cubalaya breeders they are wheaten-based, and the hens are cinnamon wheaten. If you compare cubalaya colors to old english, you can see they don't match up.

And thanks for the compliment!

The color is common in gamefowl.
