I JUST told my husband that not an hour ago-that this littler Serama is the best ZERO dollars I've ever spent. It was so nice today, I spent the day cleaning the RV and and organizing my computer stuff, etc. I laid some newspaper down on the couch and Channing has been there all day watching and helping and crowing me along. My daughter has been in to visit him twice, my husband got home early and the 1st thing he did was come in and visit with him for an hour. I swear-I can't get any work done AT ALL with this bird's visitors in and out-haha!

And to add insult to injury you've got to watch the mama hen suffer not understanding where her baby is. I've seen references all over the place as to baby Seramas being delicate, but I feel awful for you all the same. When I lost my Faverolles male a few wks ago the hen was distraught, making noise all day long and looking back and forth for him. I ended up putting her with Chicken Larry the Blue Silkie cockerel and 3 Silkie pullets. She feeds and watches over them and finally acts content (even though they're not babies). Maybe your mama hen just needs something in there to take care of. Do you suppose a stuffed animal might get her through for a few days?

I'm pretty sure the unknown breed chick I have is a bantam. She is very healthy and sweet, but very small. She is feathered pretty much everywhere but on her head. I have two questions I hope you guys can help me with. Can I put her out in the hen house or is it still too cold. I have bigger birds for her to snuggle with but they already keep my young Marans warm at night. If she ends up being a small bantam is it possible for her to mate with my Serama? This is assuming she's a she.

Kass....I don't know what to say to your dilemma. I've never had a job in my life that I was allowed to take off from no matter how sick I was or how dire the situation. I'd be counting my blessings that he's even GOT health insurance.

I am very thankful my job provides health insurance, even though we do not go to the Dr very often it does give me peace of mind, if I did need it. And it has made it possible for Gary to get allergy shots for several years now. Dr. A, nor Gary, nor I actually think he has the medical problem they are wanting to test for, he is just being hyper vigilant. Gary gets laid off a lot in his profession so we might just wait until his next lay off for the test that way he doesn't risk and early "lay off" for something that is very unlikely in the first place.

Don't start counting your chicks brfore they hatch!lol I sent some eggs over to a friends house to set tonight. Hopefully I will get my first Icelandic chicks! Have two of them laying now.​

MaryJo, I think Joe needs a mini rooster, of his own. He could take him with him when he has to travel. The rooster could hang out with him and watch the game and when he is hanging out with the guys. These roosters may be small but they are very "manly" chickens. He could talk all his guy friends into getting one and they could swap rooster stories, male bonding crap, etc. Heck we could probably come up with chicken diapers with their favorite sports team logos on it or something like that. Guys dig that stuff.

I think June is targeting the wrong group of people. Men who like sports, that's who she needs to target. She would have to start charging for roosters cuz she would not be able to keep them in stock. June this should be your new motto; Manly men have mini roosters I think I know where we can get some mini footballs, soccer balls and basketballs. Maybe we could get someone to teach their rooster to kick a ball. That would be cool.

Okay I am obviously really tired because this all seems really funny to me and is probably not so much.

Oldest DD has been in bed all day sick. She is miserable. I drug her out of bed when Aeropostale BF sale went live online so I could get her some jeans & such. I kept asking her if there was anything else I needed to order her & she just wanted to go back to bed.

I also have gotten some good amazon deals & Sally's beauty has awesome deal on flat irons & blow dryers-- now each of us will have our own flat iron & blow dryers--- no fussing fighting anymore. I look forward to black friday all yr.... Love that most deals can be done online, makes it easier on me. Only down side is my UPS man retires this wk, dnk how long it will take before his replacement can find my house! Might try to go to px Friday for a few deals. DH is also wanting to go to atwoods Friday since boots will be 25% off. I don't enjoy the Christmas music & crazy shoppers! Since DD is sick I may not be going anywhere this weekend.

Anyone else deal chasing this week?
