Good to know. I have plenty of incubator space, but am not particularly skillful in setting the eggs. I don't want any more chicks until about February or March however.

You know you need more young birds now so you can be ready for spring and have them laying before fall. winter hatches are better birds anyway.

Why? Are they hardier because they have survived the cold?

I got the Big V game cock feed at King's. I am now using their layer pellets. My bantams really like it.

If I'm not mistaken, the game cock ration at kings is $3-$4 higher per 50lbs than at Harrah feed. I can't remember the exact price, but I remember thinking it was several $ higher. Kings feed has nice ppl, but its higher in price on most everything I buy.

So my oldest daughter thought the red bowl that the cow was eating out of was his nose. Lol

Jarvis i thought i was the only one crazy enough to hatch chicks in the middle of winter. Just hatched 63 chicks & 2ducks today. Mostly white leghorns a some americanas and a sprinkling of mixed breeds thrown in for good measure.

Poultryandbees one of these days id like to ask ya some questions about bees if ya don't mind. I was given 4 hive for my birthday in August & two of them has bees in them. So now i have bees (which im really excited about) but have now ideal about what im suppose to do.

You can buy a fifty gallon drums worth for $75, in harrah Oklahoma

You are right Matt. They told me the barrels will hold 340 lbs of feed. Thats like almost 7 bags of feed bringing the cost down to 10 something a bag. Only thing I havent figured out how I will handle the barrels here when I go to unload. Great feed. If buying at Harrah and driving any distance call them at 405-454-0044 to make sure they have it mixed. Their equipment is old and some days they are sold out.

Thanks guys!

We are not going to be hatching anymore eggs until we have our own place/farm built. So I have incubators, feeders, and brooders for sale.

We will still have chickens but will buy feathered out or full grown ones.

Well just wanted to catch everyone up and say Howdy!!

Isn't that a bottle gourd? My seed are probably too old. I ordered them from Park seed a few years back.

I think that's right I have a bunch of seed from them and some others types I used to have snake gourd seed but I either lost them or bred them into something else I was wanting to get some from Wayne one of these days, I haven't planted in a few years but seed I have all looks viable still,
