***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Very good bantam breeder from missouri will be at the 5 county show in Pryor this weekend with birds to sell.

If you are needing or wanting birds it will be the time to look after the show.

Trios and pairs only.

All birds are npip and are not 100 bucks a pair like they were in Shawnee.

A couple of pics from the garden today.

One of the handfuls of radish I harvested today, I also got salad greens and cooking greens, but no pics of those.

Some of my monster turnips, just waiting for the tops to die to harvest.

Whatever nutrients that radish and turnips need I have in spades in the garden soil, but carrots and beets while they are living and the greens look good the roots aren't doing as well as the radish and turnips.

Your turnip greens will not die back for harvest. Pull some, cut the greens back leaving 1 inch of stem and remove the root leaving about 1/2 inch. Give the greens uncooked to your chickens if you don't like turnip greens. These may be stored in the fridge or in a bucket of sand in your garage or cellar. My father in law would dig a hole in the garden in a raised bed, line it with hay, fill with turnips and cover with a burlap bag and 12 inches of hay.

My wife says that i have to wait until the new sofa arrives before I get to post new pics. If u look up Charles Brunson in OKC on Facebook u can see some pics there.
