Oh chicks! I can't wait for Spring. Jack is now talking about starting up his incubators in February instead of March. He is already scrubbing the hatcher. Want to bet when he will start them up?

hard to resist!! one of you cochins is also broody, not sure if those eggs are going to hatch, i gave her 4 of the ones i bought for flo, but after candling i am not seeing anything promising - looks like a loose airsac with a shadow??? any ideas on that?? Flo still has 4, maybe 2 look possible- no sign of beak or movement though- how long do i wait after the 21at day??

Those of you with big cochins...what color are their eggs? Delilah may have laid her very first egg today. It is a creamy beigey color about the color of the eggs laid by the Columbian Wyandottes. It was big for a pullet egg.

I mixed a winter scratch today out of hulled wheat, black sunflower and cracked corn.

Hubby took me to dinner.

I have rolls of wire to cut for cages, but I think I'm going to go curl up under the electric blanket....all this talk of snow is making me cold.
