***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Awesome!!!! I wondered if your colony was still going. I would have thought they would have been intrigued by them? Guess they don't "make" kids the same as they used to.

Are hissing roaches hard to raise?

Yes and he is still here in the house, above him is the trio of NN bantams we brought home from Shawnee. I just love listening to him crow first thing but belive it or not the little NN has more volume then he does.

I love the various different crows, too. The Faverolles boy I lost had a deep crow that actually sounded really nice. I'm hoping my Cochin boys will sound that way. My Brazilian (hate calling them 'Oriental', Asian sounds much less demeaning) doesn't have a very manly crow yet but he's still just a baby.
I'd still dearly love to find a Shamo next year, even Bantam Shamo. Some of those guys want hundreds of dollars each for their birds which is nuts for someone like me that doesn't breed! I can see spending that kind of money if you're going to get into serious breeding, but not everyone even *wants to get into serious breeding. My chickens are an enjoyable hobby and pets I care about. I'll put that money towards building more pens and find a cheaper bird to love. I guess I'm going to have to hit some auctions, aren't I? It's a tough job but someone's got to do it lol

You're a wealth of information. Great talking to you and thank you!

I have only had the roaches a couple weeks but them seem fairly easy...they had babies as soon as the other teacher got them so we shall see. The ones I got from you are super easy! I just throw some food type items in and every few days grab a couple and toss them in with the lizard..well one at a time...them dudes hide fast!

My helper just got called in to work. I can trim by myself but I can't take pics and trim too so it will be later on this evening before I can get it done.

Carl (or Stephanie) I remember seeing a Rosecomb at your place, that was one gorgeous bird. I hope you find some more.
Rex, you are oh so mean lol!
Teach, ummm...good luck on your Hissing Cockroach breeding
