***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Blue x Blue = 50% blue, 25% black, 25% splash
Blue x Black = 50% blue, 50% black
Blue x Splash = 50% blue, 50% splash
Black x Splash= 100% blue

Now, when breeding blues, you will get some that appear black but will breed like a blue. I assume they are simply very dark blue. I made a mating this last year of a brassy back cock over a blue brassy splash hen, which should have resulted in all blues, yet i got some sports. That should not have happened, genetically, until I found out the brassy cock came from blue brassy breeders.

That's just like Cochins, but I suppose it's all the same no matter what the breed. Those brassy back boys are beautiful, by the way.

Now, she's really pretty! I like that color a lot.

I don't have much experience at chicken auctions, have only been to 2. Anyone at the Chupps auction on Saturday? I was disturbed at the way some of the chickens were packed and rolled in chicken wire with absolutely no space for movement. Is this a common practice? I kind of assume not since the majority of the other birds were in more comfortable containers. Just wondering...

I am in need of a bunch of rabbit cages to use in my poultry building. We will be going up to Oklahoma City in a couple of weeks to pick up a breeder pen thing, so I'd like to be able to get some rabbit cages as well. If you have any, of know if anyone that has any please PM or E-Mail me. Thanks

Never been to chupps but I believe birds sell with the cage there. I dn like seeing birds piled on top of each other however most sellers don't have numerous cages to part with so they have to get creative with the cages.
