***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I just keep a big rolling pin and a cast iron skillet within reach....

No, seriously, Roger has supported me in every whim except having horses when we moved to the farm. His youngest daughter was run over by a frightened horse and was clipped on the back of the head when she was 3 years old. He has never liked them since. Today at 35, she is having neck issues..skull not seated correctly on the C-1 vertebrae.
On issues where we may differ, he usually comes around to assist me if I forge forward with the data and the preparation.
In other words...he is a keeper!
I think DH has watched too many episodes with Billy the exterminator. He is scared we will be over taken with bees, bugs or bats. Silly guy didn't realize how fast goats, guineas & chickens can multiply.

As far as the bugs go, I am glad you guys started talking about them. I am looking into them myself from what I have been reading from you guys. I havent told the chickens yet though, I dont want to get them excited yet.

I have been thinking about it too.
I would not tell my girls either. I go outside and the flock runs to me from all corners as it is. I'd be in the middle of a mobfluff ifthey thought I had bugs in my pockets.

Sometimes I think I miss all the fun! I am married to a man that doens't agree with me having bugs, bees or bat houses. DD birthday is in 2 wks, maybe if she wanted bugs for her birds that would be acceptable?????
hmmmm, just like humans. females are wider than the males!

My Serama looked scared but he's probably not a very good indicator of how the Cochins are going to act lol
Nana, I'm with your husband on the horse thing. I've had about every kind of animal there is but horses I don't understand nor care for. I'm suspicious of an animal that you can treat well, feed well, house well...but he'll still kick you every chance he gets.

Thanks for asking. Healing well; better than the one in July. Still quite a bit of pain at times, but painkillers take care of that. Can walk pretty well without a cane.

Mine too, except for the horse thing. Mine has put a foot down about goats while in town, even the tiny ones though.

The new chicken coop pallet floor is down and cinderblocked level. I need to add a little height (two bricks to each support) then I'm ready to start nailing the floor boards in. Woo Hoo one step closer to my chicken moat and naked neck chickens (and maybe a polish or two just for laughs.)
