***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Quote:

I hadn't eaten all day and my stomach was thinking my throat had been cut, I got to thinking about nachos LOL I decided to just cook as I wasn't going to go anywhere but 2 pork steaks and veggies and I'm full and worthless now so I think I will head out to see chicken folks, I may load a cage or three cause I know as long as there are BYC'ers there having no cages WILL NOT PREVENT IMPULSE POULTRY PURCHASES!

We are going just to socialize and deliver honey and the brooder. Of course, there is a cage in the back of the magic poultry van because not to take a cage would be really bad luck (although I did borrow a cage from the auction when I bought the geese for a friend this fall)

Meforz (I can't remember how to spell it but you know who you are) my husband tries that too, oh I can't do it as well as you .....
and for most things I just lower my standards remembering he is only a man.

Showing is fun. You can make it as busy or not busy as you want depending on what you want to do. Taking care of the birds is daily show or no show. you might just find one in the area & go watch it. That might be the best way to learn. You can also use the show function on here along with just serching on the web.

I feel the falling asleep in my chair happening for me tonight. I have already got a roast ready to make into BBQ sands & they can feed themselfs.

Sooner, what show was today?

Bill I was once bidding on some stuff from Govliquidation and was bored so I was watching it close. Just in the last second or two another bid came in but then it kicked in an automatic extension and it stayed open another 15 minutes. Since I had only put about half of what I thought it was worth to me I waited till the last few seconds and hit it again, This went on for over an hour before they gave up.

I don't think the person ever really figured out that I was just messing with them but it sure was fun, they must have been used to "snipeing" on Ebay.

Yep I did end up winning the bid and it was only about 3/4 of my max.

Deanne- have you gotten someone to help? Hey Mitzi, can you give the gal a hand??

Since I currently live in OKC, I'm not supposed to have chickens, and can't get my house listed until the chickens are gone. If anyone is willing to help me out with this, I would soooo appreciate it!

Thanks,

Deanne

Kass, so far there haven't been problems between him and the head roo, wonder if they can get along??

Robin, I think once they learn to crow the "Big C" doesn't stop it, so if you intend for that sooner is better, since he is already trying. The older (bigger) they get the more dangerous the procedure since they have a more developed blood supply to the area.

hhheeeeeeelllllloooooooooo!!!!!!!!

is this thing on?????????

ok, now they are ignoring me.

oh well, not the first time i have had "the silent treatment"!

I just finished potting up some more tomatoes. If all my plants thrive I will put half in the ground early, do my best to use row cover to protect them from the frost-- and if the early plants get taken out by mother nature, I will have the extras on hand to replace them with.

Where are yu keeping all your plants until planting?

I will soon be putting my house up for sale and moving to the house at Lake Eufaula. Getting all of my accumulated stuff donated or thrown out is a long, horrible experience. I'm definitely downsizing, so anything that's not necessary is getting tossed.

One of my biggest concerns is my chickens. I currently have 5 assorted LF who are my egg layers, though the Minorca hasn't given me an egg in a long time. I keep her because I like her. I also have 14 grown Seramas and 6 babies. The two silkied ones can stay with in the house with me during this process, but am needing to find a temporary home for all the others. Is there anyone who would be willing to keep them temporarily, until I get my house listed and sold? I will provide the feed, the two small coops, waterers, feeders and anything else that they need. Since I currently live in OKC, I'm not supposed to have chickens, and can't get my house listed until the chickens are gone. If anyone is willing to help me out with this, I would soooo appreciate it!

Thanks,

Deanne

reposting this so someone will see it.

Lil'Sooner did well today. She got 2 best of breeds & other places. Got alittle worried about her when she got sick as soon as we got there but she got past it & had a great day. I am glad to be home where it is warm.
Congrats to Little Sooner!

Hate being down under...meds made me sleepy...now I'm wide awake.
