***OKIES in the BYC III ***

For those of you that havent noticed the patern here, I LIKE BLUE CHICKENS

One has to wonder if that might be a trick of the chicken in an attempt to save themselves from the dinner table since statically speaking blue is the least appetizing food as far as color and in nature there are no true blue foods, blueberry’s aren't blue either LOL

Cowboy are you comming to the meet in june? If so I can bring you some of the birds then. Glad you spoke up ,I have a guy supposed to come tomorrow and get a bunch of those,I will get out there in the morning and pick out some for you. You needed a cock kite, and two kite and almond pairs ,right?

Boy it was sure windy here today! I finally got to set my first broody of the yaer! One of the icelands started setting so I put about 18 bantam eggs under her. ThenI ended up selling my buff cochins and black cochin pair today. Good part of that sale is the guy has a cabinet bator and now he will be hatching some eggs for me!

I just have to say that since I've been lurking for the last week or two, I have really enjoyed listening to everyone. The posts are certainly teaching me a lot, and lots are really funny, the pics are wonderful, and y'all sound like you're a great bunch to know. Now when I get home from work and take a few minutes to sit and relax (I'm on my feet all day) I catch up on the Okie thread. I've filled in hubby on some of it and he's getting skeered. Usually I spend my free time with the horses, and he tells our friends that I care more about them than him. Now that Ive told him we're getting 10 hens and a roo instead of 5 hens, he's really groaning! I think he's afraid I'm gonna train a chicken to ride the horse.
I sure don't know why...

I told him about POOPS and he thinks that sounds like fun (specially the food part) so we'll be there!

I'll look around to see if we have anything on the wish list and I can definitely bring food. Just let me know what you need more of.

My husband has formed a support group for spouses of folks who practice Chicken math.
- But even he has been "Jonesin" for an auction since the Blanchard and Newcastle ones were off for two weeks.

Yes sir, that would be great, the odd bird needs to be a hen. My almound roller is a cock bird.

The first step in curing ones self, is admiting you have a problem.

Asils are one of the proudest breed of chickens out there. They scream admire me from the first time you see them. Just let yourself go, and enjoy.

I just caught myself looking again. They are very striking looking, - intelligent?

You have your turkins, your madagascar, your ganoi your showgirls and possible others I dont know about. The NN gene is dominant and has been stuck on many a differant chicken. .

Oh yea that's right I knew about the show girls, just don't think of them as chickens. (
