***OKIES in the BYC III ***

How about Black Copper, Cuckoo and Gold Salmon Marans, Welsummers and B/B/S Americaunas? My neighbor has tons of eggs that won't all fit in his bator. We live in Choctaw.
All of these sound great! Can you pm me with the details and we can set up a time to meet? Thank you for your help!! Of course my hubby said thank goodness there is still good room in the coop. I love that man!

There is also a sister site about gardening, the link is at the bottom of the page the easy garden don't know if this will work but if it does here is the link TheEasyGarden.com

Thanks Kass, your always full of information. Hubby and I were just talking about some of your creative items. I actually looked at your pictures on the bottom of your profile. LOVE the burlap sack and the "envelope" for the greens! Who has some garlic for planting?!?!

hm.... DH might be headed to choctaw tomorrow to look at some tractor stuff. Think they'd part with some americauna eggs?

Will Jack bring eggs to poops?? Or selling blue chicks? DD is really into blue birds this season. I didn't want to get in a bidding war last night over eggs! Some of them went way too high.

For gardening site I have used garden web for years, loads slow lots of ads but has everything you need! I also use Dave's garden (it's $20 a yr though). Homesteading today also has a good garden & preserving forum. As far as garlic grows I plant mine in the fall. Half of what I planted looks amazing. The other half has had frequent visits for the rabbits & goats.

I spent the entire day on the tractor running the tiller. Used a full tank of diesel. Told DH the guy we bought it from lied, he said the tractor would run all day on a tank of diesel. It only lasted about 6 hours. Wish we could drive the truck for 6 hours on 5 gallons! Told my girls they may not see me in the morning, I am scared my aching body might not let me roll out of bed.

Thankful for the rain we had! However, looking forward to the nice weather we are suppose to have the next few days.

Carl what would be the best day for me to come see you. Also now that you are working such long hours are you to busy to mess with one more batch.

Bring more, it's not a problem at all. The long days are an adjustment but will not interfere with the birds or Incubating and hatching. I cut back on the number of birds and number of breeder pens but I will always have time for my stress relief.

On Big Lots, why not, the trees are leafed out, had a good root system and have had good luck with them over the past few years, roses from them also grew very well. Hubby says I am not cheap, just frugal with the money I spend, but then again I buy garden seeds at the end of the growing season to use the next spring, recyle a lot, love the thrift stores and garage sales.

Lynn - Big lots?? Really? How strange, not sure I'd buy from them :p Never had much luck with stuff there that doesn't live, not sure I'd trust them for things that do :p Yeah, we had already picked out the compatible varities we wanted 4 years ago before we had anywhere to plant them :) We got mostly semi dwarf varities, hoping it'll be a good balance of yield and convenience. That one though sounds interesting and I'm sure the guy would sell something compatible for it. It's on the agenda to get back to atwoods for some pecan trees. I might just see if the guy in Okmulgee has some so I'm not driving so far for just a funny sounding apple tree

Isn't mint pervasive? Was it someone on here or my grandmother that told me that?

My comment was not based on dismissing frugality, rather my personal experiences with big lots are not pleasent. There are things I have bought there that weren't worth the cardboard they were packaged in and I cannot tell you how many times I've seen them selling things for double what I've seen them (and bought things for) elsewhere. I just don't trust them as a company, I'm suspicious of their items. I'll have to drive by a few today and see if they are selling any around here.

so your the one that bought the Bantam Buff Brahmas, I was thinking about biding on them but they went up so quick I decided I didn't need them

LOL well we didn't 'need' them but my 7 year old has been begging every auction for banty cochins. We bid on the other pair of milli fleur but they went up quick too so I gave up on those.

Shelly if you get any of Jack's eggs holler and we can split some. I want some of his cuckoo eggs and black copper eggs. I bid on his cuckoo eggs at the auction the other night but they went sky high.
