***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Also-OceansEve-would you be interested in a male out of this batch of Lavender Ameraucanas that Carl just hatched for me? There's only 5 chicks and I'm sure a few are male, I'd know which ones were boys by POOPS. I do NOT want to keep extra males, this is getting to be too much with all the boys.
Edit: They're from good bloodlines if you're interested in that sort of thing (I'm not).

I'm kind of male heavy at the moment, when I got guineas they gave me 6 roos :p I have two young brahma roos and I don't know yet if any of the banties are roos, I'm thinking not, but they're still on the young side to tell. So I have 6 roos, 2 young roos and 15 chicks...... Ah! I don't have any chickens, guess I need to go to Atwoods

I don't care about breeding, I intend to free range so everyone will be with everybody else, unless I seperate the brahmas.. haven't decided yet. I'm just wanting a color variety in my eggs. I know I'm bringing some of the roos to poops, but I don't know which ones yet and I need to email her to find out exactly what they were again cause I can't remember. Some are feather footed and very pretty. how does the genetics work? If I did take that roo from you if he mated to my orps or brahmas would I end up with EEs out of it?

Was just sitting out on the front porch listening to the owls and coyotes. No rain, no wind, and I even saw the stars.... ahhhhhhhhh....

I stopped by the folks where I got the girls to see if she could spare a chick or two because the little guy was lonely. We talked a while and then she says matter of factly, "So you want five, right?" I had to laugh. Even for hatchery bird egg farmers, everyone is an enabler! So I came home with five more chicks.

Little guy isn't lonely anymore. Nuff said, 'Nite all!

Yeah!!!!

If you dumped the water out of the tray, they should drain and some of them should make it okay.

They are in the cardboard type starter thingies... The other day I stuck a couple in the oven to dry out a bit, but most of these finally have plants beginning to sprout so I don't think I want to cook them. I guess I can just hope the sun comes out today

Well, Duke is not only blind, but he's super needy, he wants to be inside most of the time, if he's in and needs out he whines, if he is out and wants in (all the time) he barks, can you hear him from your house Ksane?? I bet you can! Good news is he gets along with my other dogs, just need to break him of this barking habit.

Good morning Okie's~ We got more rain yesterday, it's pretty wet & messy here. So far my garden has survived, I could loose a plant or two but overall that isn't bad.

Hoping today to get the T-shirt order's started!! 45 days aren't very long!

How did everyone fare the storms last night? I will be glad for the sunshine this weekend and so will my birds. Their runs are a muddy, mucky mess after all the rains. I cleaned them all after that first big rain on Monday and put down fresh pine shavings but I won't get out there today since I am at work. Here are pics I took last night while the slush was coming down. Poor little guys were getting excited thinking it was snowing! LOL

and your point is?

i snicker everytime i say something about going to poop's, and GIRLS DO HAVE COOTIES!!!!!

Won't get an argument from me on the cooties, I pray my boys think girls have cooties until they are well out of college. Being the mom of 4 boys I am more than willing to convince them girls have cooties until they are 25 or 30.

My baby (7 almost 8) has entered to that wonderfull boy stage of "Hey I can take a bath and put on tomorrows clothes so I don't have to get dressed in the morning!" phase. Gotta love raising boys!!!

I think the girls were easier till about age 12 then that went down hill, boys were a challenge till about 10 then they got easeir and went down hill around 14-15 but were easily but back in place..

good soggy morning guys! haven't let the flock out yet- their run is a soggy mess, will they be fine in the coop today? its 10 x 10 and there are 12 in there...

here is a candling chart i had saved

Glad we did not get any of that hail and stuff, is everything ok there or are the gutters so full they are sagging?

Good on the plants and a very mild shock collar would work with the barking. The dog being trained isn't supposed to connect you to the shock control...don't let them see you...but with your dog, he won't be able to see you anyway. He hould connect the shock with the bark very quickly and it is immediate correction.

Girls go thru that stage too about 5 or 6

Gutters were so full they were sagging. DH will have to get out there and check them after he gets done with Shanda's therapies. I am sure one is bent but couldn't tell for sure in the dark when I left this morning.
