***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Can't imagine a pigeon the size of a turkey!

Speaking of turkey, I candled the turkey eggs Mitzi. I can't see anything yet, but I know with my guinea eggs I need 7-10 days before I can see much.

Sooner I will let you know about shirts when DD picks a color. Do you happen to have a copy of the tshirt graphic that you can put in an svg file? If so I can cut it out in vinyl & put it on a large tile for a raffle prize.

I tried mowing the yard. Made one pass next to the garden & a blade fell off the mower! DH put the new blades on a couple weeks ago & I know he used the mower after changing the blades. Why in the world did the blade just fall off???? DH will have to fix it when he comes home Thursday.
Since my mowing attempt failed I came in & boiled eggs for devil eggs. Trying to talk myself into starting some yeast rolls, just cant get motivated! I plan on taking lunch into DH's drills Thursday so lots of cooking needs to be done. Think if I take a nap then it will be easier to get motivated.

I don't have any idea what a svg file is........It is just emailed to me as a picture(jpg).

It's been a while since I've been online. It has taken all my spare time to catch up on the thread. Our basement is nearly dry thanks to enormous fans and gigantic dehumidifiers. They have been running non stop since Monday afternoon. I feel like I'm living in a giant bee hive. We can't use the AC unit because it would pump moist air from the basement into the room on the ground floor, so it's warm in here. I think the fans are being removed today, but I don't know about the dehumidifiers.

Later in the week we may have jack hammers blasting away at the basement floor so that a sump pump can be installed. I can't stand to wear ear plugs, so I guess I need to pitch a tent outside until the construction is finished.

We went to the zoo recently. It seemed like half the exhibits were closed for renovations. There is a new sea lion in residence. He slept the whole time we watched him. Too bad we missed feeding time. My favorite animal on this visit was the blue-crowned pigeon. It's bigger than an adult turkey.

I've got some pics of him too from the zoo. They are cool looking.

Christina, I've been eating the turkey eggs and I practically have to use tools to get them cracked so maybe the shells are too thick to be able to see anything with candling.
I'm going to feel awful if I let your daughter down and none hatch lol I'll go buy her some baby turkeys and you can slip them under her pillow. Hmmm...she probably wouldn't fall for the Tooth Fairy bringing turkeys, would she....?

Guess my break is over, back to the garden. The minimum I want to get done today is plant the tomatoes that I have ready to go (some plants some seeds) and w/ the tomatoes includes planting marigold and borage. I want to finish all the asparagus beds w/ seeds. I planted out about 300 feet of roots, but I have about 200 more feet of beds to plant out in seeds. I also have approx 50 or so feet of potatoes to plant out. Plant out the remaining walking onion seeds (I'm late on those) I may get a couple more bunches of onion sets too we'll see how that goes. Dig up the raspberry and iris that I am trading for the blueberries.

I also need to dig and prepare more garden space (runner grass roots) and prepare space for the blueberries and the sorghum, and if I can get to it plant out several types of veggie seeds (the ones I have plenty of incase of late freeze) (but that's not on the minimum list for today)

She never believed in the tooth fairy or Santa, so doubt it would work! She understands when eggs aren't fertile or dont develop. A couple yrs ago if an egg didn't hatch she would get real upset, but FINALLY she understands the process. The guinea eggs are thick shells too. I crack them open on the back of a knife. Maybe next wk we will be able to see some movement in the turkey eggs.

Thanks. I don't know enough about file types to convert them. My program will only let me cut svg files, if anyone knows how to covert it I will be happy to cut some out.

Still recovering from the Saturday night auction...in more than one way...but got to chat with a lot of bycers and finally got to meet old cowboy..it was a pleasure chatting with him.

Wanted to show off the little hen we got from Muesky, she is an awesome little black Ameraucana that has fit right in and made herself at home...

She is in the front checking out her new roo

In the front again...my little hen in the back is saying, "thank goodness, another girl!" lol...now she has someone to talk to.

Remember, no auction this weekend (5th Saturday)...but New Castle will be the following weekend!

The pleasure was mine. It was good talking with you. Are you coming to the next Newcastle sale?
