***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Coral I am excited to hear how you chick order turns out from Sandhill. Do you have a guess how long until your next shipment? I was considering ordering some birds from them myself. If anyone else is wanting some chicks from Sandhill lmk & maybe we can split an order. Sure I can order 25 all by myself, but thought I would throw the offer out there since someone else might only want a few.

I got a phone call last night confirming the box was shipped from Iowa. I expect a phone call from the post office (downtown) tomorrow morning. I will let you know what they look like when I get them home. I drive to Tulsa so that the box doesn't get routed to Muskogee and then to Haskell and then to my house. There is a day, sometimes two, added to their journey if I let the post office carry them all the way here. I'm expecting Buff Catalan, Cuckoo layers ( a cross), and some large fowl assorted. They didn't have enough cream Brabanters this time to fill my order, so I was told I would get a second shipment with the Brabanters and some filler chicks when the Brabanters are available. I hope all the San Hill Brabanters are crested. I was hoping to put together a nice breeding group from the two shipments (Ideal/Sand Hill), but there's no telling until they grow up.

What do you plan on ordering? I'm ordering another 100 meat birds next week.

PoCo yes I did hear from Sandhill. They sent my check back because they could' fill the order. They were booked up on the breed till June! So I had to send the order back in and now am on the bottom of the list again! You would have thought they would have just left the order in the system and filled it when they could. I won't be using them again!
Had an ice hen hatch out 14 out of 17 eggs today! Gerbil had three baby's,hamster had a pot full of baby's and I got one doe rabbit bred today!

Minerva Minorca is broody so I gave her 12 eggs (CW, Cochin cross) and Delilah has gone very broodie so I gave her 15 eggs (OEGB, Blue Wyandotte and her Blue Cochin eggs). I set up the cages with a hay nesst and settled the eggs in the depression. Both girls went into their cages and immediately started talking to the eggs, settled in and pulled all their eggs in close.

Went to the doctor for my neck injections today...slept all the way home. He wants to run a cardiac battery review so he is sending my records to a cardiologist Since my younger sister as well as my mother had heart attacks it makes sense. Sister also has diabetes. If nothing turns up, it will be a good baseline for future comparisons.

When I got home, I checked on the girls and both were still sitting tight on their eggs. They are going to be great Moms.

Going to bed early tonight.

I am wanting some rose comb RIR & maybe some more hertiage RIR, of course I would also like some Langshan & some dorkings.... If I look at the page a while longer I am sure that I can find a few other things I NEED. Rose comb RIR are sold out until July, but I do want some...... Do you have enough housing for all those birds? I have a few cattle pannel style coops that will be empty after I process my roos. Hope to process them this weekend. I will have my sisters kids, so may not be able to process with the extra helpers running around.

Nana--- did you see that I was bringing 2 decorative tiles for raffle? Maybe more, but my cutting program & I are not on speaking terms at the moment.

Monty, I have a 10 x10 pop-up canopy I plan on bringing. Will there ber a covered area for birds or food?

Someone forgot to tell me how lazy and laid back Dark Brahma are and how cuddly and lovey Ameraucana are. All the Brahma act the same and all the Ameraucana act the same-way different than my Cochins and Silkies last year. The Bantam Faverolles are 4 wks old now and little wild childs. Out of 6 Bantam Faverolles babies I ended up with 4 girls, a Salmon boy and a Blue Salmon boy. I wanted a Blue Salmon boy really bad so I'm glad I got one. I'll place the Salmon boy, there's no need to have 2 when I'm not even going to breed them. But I gotta do it soon instead of hanging onto him for 6 months, would anyone be interested?
Here's a Lavender Ameraucana and one of the Dark Brahma. Look at the size of the Brahma's crop lol They loooove to eat.

Awesome luck on the Bantam Favarolles! They are such beautiful birds.
I have one Americauna now and if she is like the typical Amreicauna I'm going to want more because she is so sweet, already eating from my hand. She can mix in with my breeding Cochins because her eggs sure will be easy to spot.
Don't tempt me with those brahamas! You know how I love fluffy round birds.
