***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The scant number of feathers on that toe makes me think it is a cross bred chick. Your mystery chick has the correct number of towes for a Cochin.

Good to know about the toe count, couldn't find that info anywhere, thanks! As far as the breed, well, guess I'll try to have more patience and wait till it gets bigger.

I'll get those seeds from Bill this week!

My Partridge Cochins never have any grey fluff. What ever he/she is, he/she is CUTE. I love them at the half feathered age.

Thanks for the tip on the grey fluff. Again, I must be more patient. I hear patience is a virtue...... anybody remember the cartoon with the two vultures sitting in the tree?

Thanks to JCatblum and her DH for coming over this evening and helping out. They took away all my extra lumber laying around and helped get the brush hog on my tractor so I can use it this week. Such a great couple... THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Josh was happy to help. He spends every spare moment tinkering & working on projects. He was happy to tackle the tractor. With all the old lumber he hauled home now he has another project. The goats will soon have a ladies only shelter. May also get an expansion on the guinea coop too!

Good Morning Okie's. Just a quick post to tell anyone that has PM'd me that I will answer them all tomorrow. I have left my spreadsheet at the office & was out of town this weekend! Happy Monday everyone!~

Awe they are cuties!!!! I have my first honest to goodness broody. I thought she would just sit a day or two and quit like my last one did but I took her off her next all last week and took her eggs but Friday I gave up. I let her keep the egg she had and then yesterday she had stole one from someone else so I let her keep that one. I am considering giving her some eggs from another coop. I hate that she is sitting on 2 lonely eggs. I think she will be a good momma but we have never had a broody before. She is one of my French Cuckoo Marans so I hate her being broody but she wasn't giving it up, lol.

No experience but I love ordering from revival animal health. Prices are good & shipping isn't bad. I am sure if you look around you can pick out a few other things too.
Only time I have had respiratory issues I used tylan50 injectable.

Thanks Revival is who I ordered our Oxine from and I want to order some more. We are spraying coops down with it daily right now and I clean waterers with it once a week plus putting it in their water every other day. I started the sneezing chick on the Tylan 50 he is only 5 weeks old and started all his broodermates on Duramycin in their water to hopefully keep them from picking it up. But if it is viral there isn't much I can do. I am going to see if Revival has the Denagard but I was thinking they don't carry it. But I may call them to double check.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter! Anybody looking for Wheaten Marans? I have 4 I need to find homes for. They were hatched on 3/31, all have feathered legs. The eggs came from Texas that I bought off the auction section of BYC. The black one is a Black Copper Maran /Buff Orpington mix that I just hatched because I wanted too...
