Congrats!!!! Can't wait to see baby NN pictures!!!

They are more young youth then true babies, they are 4-6 wks I have pics already will just have to get them loaded to the computer off the camera, I'll do that this evening. I love them they are awesome, already better foragers then my beloved EE's at their same age. I thought I wanted blues and splash, but the variety I got is perfect!

Kass, and Poco here is a couple of shots of the NNs with the hair dos. They remind me of the big hair in the 60s and beyond. Of course I am just going off pictures, cause no one is that old.

Princess was never afraid of storms or gunshots but Dutchess was, then Princess saw that Dutch got attention when it thundered so she started acting like she was afraid and still does it LOL

Carla said it didn't hurt but it looked like a good pinch though, He still needs to be picked up every now and then LOL He is my protector in the yard he does a better job than Princess

I can sleep through a thunderstorm just fine, but am less able to sleep through a 50-60 lbs shaking dog in the middle of my chest!

rebloomers bloom twice a year -

I would be interested in trading Iris next year though... I have about 70 named and 60 some noids all shades and colors but they are not yet to the point that part of them can be traded.

I have never heard of an iris blooming twice a year that is cool. You have 130 different types of iris and you know the names of 70?????

HOORAY! Kass got babies! Can't wait to see them. 4-6 wks is the perfect age to get them IMO. You get to skip the brooder and worrying about who's going to make it and who's not.

Deanne, I sure hope your hen does better. I'd go so far as to grind up some oyster shell and put it in her food. My hens wouldn't eat it when I put it separately in a tub for them. I ended up just getting layer feed instead of Flock feed. The boys will just have to deal with the extra calcium, it's the girls who are my favorites

Yes I do I have a little bit of an ummm strong impulse for iris and just love the named ones ... dont worry though Kass will have them growing out my ears next year - and will have to buy more this year so there will always be plenty! Over all if it grows in Oklahoma I grow it or want to grow it - so chickens have a full jungle to travel through!

Yep they bloom Spring and if everything goes fine they bloom again in the fall.

I really think that the oyster shell isn't ground up small enough for the Serama's to eat. I tried putting some oyster shell in a baggie and pounding it with a hammer. That didn't do much but make a mess, and using my blender is out of the question. It would probably ruin the blades. So... to make it easier on everyone, I'll probably go back to the layer feed, too.

I do think iris are pretty, but never have grown anything except shrubs & herbs & veggies.
Spent all day in town serving lunch to DH drills & cadre. Came home to 2 bulls fighting where our property meets the neighbors. Evidently they broke a corner post because now I have a group of calves grazing in my yard. So I am on watch until the owner gets here to round them all back up & fix the fence.

Guineas are laying well, hope we have good fertility. So far 8 dz eggs to set tomorrow! ***** came home to a nasty smell today. An egg was cracked in the incubator. I had candled them last night. Guessing one got cracked when we put them back. I removed the egg sprayed with oxine now the smell is MUCH better! First time I have ever smelt the incubator can't imagine how nasty it would be if several eggs broke!
