***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Modernman, glad to hear the updates on the baby!!

Storms haven't started up here yet but looks like a long day stuck in the house.

Medforz (I spell your name different everytime) I still have your cage, need to get that back to you.

We had fitful winds all night with coughs and hiccups of rain. I can lean into the wind now, like in an old Buster Keaton film, and not fall over. I hope everyone fared well last night. I need to go check the goats again. No kids yet. We're getting close!

For those on here who are teachers. I went to the Appelbaum Training Institute seminar today. It was so much fun. Have any of you been to that or the tic toc training? That's the next class I will be attending next month. Still trying to get this whole teaching down.

Since everyone is posting pictures of iris here's what is growing all around the back of my house.

I love this one!!

hey everybody. glad to be here!

Been petting the turkey poults that hatched out last tuesday, they like to snuggle up under my chin and in my hair, it's all good until they poop on me, hope that the petting and snuggling them makes them tamer than the adult turkeys ( got the adults at a sale, they were about 6 months old ), they have started chirping loudly off and on during the day, when I talk to them the quieten down. Any other suggestion to make them more people friendly ?

On the meatie birds, they are going on about 6 weeks, are out free ranging with the other birds around their age, they waddle/run when they see you with a feed bucket, they are so funny to watch, but are eating and pooping machines. Got 4 processed friday, tried out the plucker DH built, need to add a few more fingers to it, ended up hand plucking just a few feathers, so not too bad, sure beats plucking the whole bird by hand, going to cryro bag them today and get them in the freezer, the should have bean rested enough in the fridge by not, they weighed about 3 1/2 pounds each, did those a little sooner than intended due to leg problems.

Blanchard was a blast - not a huge crowd but I brought home 20 birds, 2 rabbits, and a ton of supplies and three cages all for under 50 - LOVE IT!

Saddly son got bored too early and we went home before it was over but was great to be there!
