POOPS SCOOP

SET UP:
A lot of you have asked how you can help with POOPS. As we get closer to the big event,
I want to let everyone to know where will be needing help.
The pavilion where it is being held is open on all sides so If it is cold and windy or raining
we will need help hanging tarps for a windbreak.

tongue.png
RAFFLE: We will need lots of help to display the RAFFLE items on the tables and to hang
the ticket sacks. With plenty of help it won't take long . I will also need a few people to help
sell raffle tickets at a table. We can work in shifts so no one person is there for very long.

tongue.png
FOOD & COOKING: Sooner will need lots of help getting the food items organized and set out.
Also we will be grilling burgers and hot dogs so I am gonna need a few folks to help with the grilling
as well as helping prep etc.

ClEAN-Up: Shouldn't take very long with enough help. Picking up trash, putting away lefftover food and loading some tables and chairs.

I am sure I will have more to add to this list.
I appreciate everyone's willingness to help.
Thanks,
Monty

Is everyone alright this morning? That was quite a thunderstorm last night. JCatblum, hope your garden will recover from the hail storm.
Oklahoma may no longer be in a drought, but we have had some nasty weather along with the moisture.

Found a great picture tutorial on deboning a turkey, or chicken, leaving the bird looking as if it was still whole. The youtube video was great that was posted a while back, but I am one of those people that needs step by step instruction. Thinking about trying this for Mother's day meal for my mom, just need to figure out a good stuffing for it.
Reckon you could do this with the processed meaties and heat cyrovac them ? Would be nice to pop one out of the freezer ready to go.

Yeah ! The turkey poults are hatching this morning, 3 out of 6 eggs so far. The turkey hens have a shared nest of 14 eggs that should hatch out in about 2 weeks, and one more incubator hatch that goes to lockdown tomorrow.

I have a question....
I hav been incubating chicks for a few yrs now... - well I have some chicks out of this batch
To look what appears to be their guts hanging out its butt....should I be worried....is there something I can do to my incubator.
I keep consistant temp and humidity........ I have hatced almost 1000 chicks this yr. Ive seen a few like this..however ive had 5 out of 9 hatched with this...

I need your opinion...

I've got some 4 week old chicks that I had put outside early since its been so unseasonably warm this spring. They have done great so far, but now its supposed to be 38 tonight and I'm wondering if I should pull them back inside. What do you think?

Put me to work doing anything but setup and clean up. I don't want to volunteer for set up in case I run late. I don't want to promise clean up in case Shane, my 4 year old is irritable and needs to get home. I will help with anything and will help with either of these if I'm there, but don't want to promise. I'm so excited to meet everybody!

Thanks P&B Haven't made my morning rounds yet, still working on getting the kids moving. Peeked out the window my van & truck are plastered with wet leaves. Wonder if we have limbs down anywhere. Prefer if I just pretend there isn't a mess to clean up, the girls & I already have a full day planned. Thankful for all the rain we have had lately, my peafowl pen is full of nice lush plants. Somehow both guinea pens are still just dirt, we are suppose to lay some sod scraps in their pens wonder how fast they will kill the sod.

On the deboning the chicken, Martha Stewart has a thanksgiving turkey segment like that, not sure if you can find the recipe or video online. I have her holiday series DVD & it is on one of the DVDs. I have watched it a dz times & really want to try it soon.
Excited to here turkeys hatching first try! We didn't have any luck here, but they were first eggs from beginning of the season, so I don't think it was DD fault.

The baby chick that is having problems with its rectum I vote cull. We had one like that last wk, came from auction eggs. We culled right away. Possibly it didn't finish forming correctly?
On the baby chicks I vote move them inside or put a light with them, I still have my 4-5 wk olds inside a coop in the barn with a light, the coop is 8x8 for grow out & the light is only in one corner, so they don't go under it much but the option is there.
Time for me to go let the birds & goats out to play. Hope nobody has any major storm damage to deal with!
