***OKIES in the BYC III ***

If you need them, I have a lot of snake gourd seeds from last year's crop and will be glad to bring some to POOPS. If anyone is looking for any other certain type of plant or seed, let me know and maybe I can help. I have quite a few perennials I started from cuttings last year; abelia, wiegela, Confederate Rose hibiscus, etc. Also have Texas Star hibiscus that are second year plants from seeds I started last year. Those like damp growing conditions, so if anyone has a pond or bog where they need some color...... Working on corkscrew and weeping willows. I have a few corkscrews going well, but am still building inventory on on the weeping. I have a lot of other stuff, too, but won't try to list it all here. Lots and lots of heirloom tomato plants if anyone still needs any.
I will be at POOPS and that would be great if I had more separation from the goats to my plants I want to keep I would be trying to load up on starts and cuttings LOL I need to have a huge fence party one of these days here, of course I will have to win the lotto or heist a brinks truck before I can afford to do all that :)

Meet Annabelle and Carmen...now that they have bathed, been blow dried and have eatten and sun bathed....the full spa treatment.

Nana the last time I saw stink eye that intense was from my Goosey when Carla was meeting him LOL

There's so many Wyandottes & Orpingtons around and I've never had one (or met one except at auctions). Do they have similar personalities?
I've never had Wyandottes but I can vouch for the temperament of the Orpingtons the are so calm I can't imagine not having a flock of them around

Joe I like how efficient those coops look I've seen several people with them Carl and Steph (pictures of theirs) and Yonder Oaks but they are built way too close to the ground for me LOL I have one coop that I have to crawl into to collect eggs and it's hard on this fat man

Oh Nana, I love them!! If you breed white to black or blue will you always get white? I'm going to have to put a pure white Cochin on my list!

White is much like black, never what you actually see. White has two possibilities Dominant or recessive but both are just a "off switch" for expression of color. In order to know what you will get you would need to fully understand the complete breeding background of the birds for at least 3-5 generations. Many prominant breeders and exhibitors will cross blue or black that carry silver for hackle color into the white to prevent or reduce sun brassing.
You could easily expect to see either light blue, splash looking birds, with lacing present or other possibilities but for the most part very light colored birds with better leg color as the white undoubtedly has good clean yellow legs as a cochin should.

Annabelle is the bigger of the two, has a broader head and a yellow leg band. Part of her comb is missing.

Carmen while smaller has a sweeter personality. She has a complete comb.
Very good looking additions to the cochin flock NanaKat.. You will should be very happy with the birds from Bo. He does a great job with them.

Dear Okie friends,
We made a killing at the farmers market yesterday, so now I'm looking to beef up my herd er flock. If anyone should see some reasonably priced layers on craigslist or if you have some to sell, I would appreciate a PM. We prefer EEs and various shades of brown egg layers. Thanks.

I was going to post more, but I knew you wouldn't be able to resist and I didn't want to "tempt you beyond what you could bear" so see I've got your back.
