***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey guys just wondering if you would send good vibes to my husband's uncle. He just found out he has stage 4 cancer of the liver. His liver was fine 7 months ago, totally clean so it's moving really fast. He's opted to just let it go instead of trying chemo. So just looking for good thoughts and prayers that he is able to get all of his affairs in order and pass in as little pain as possible. His name is Sherman and he really is just an awesome and wonderful guy. His health went downhill after his wife died about two years ago. He had to have his bladder removed and just lots of other troubles, but we all thought things were getting better. So sad he really is a great guy.

So sorry about the bad news for Sherman and your family.

Love the roses, we had a few bushes @ our old house & my favorite one had tangerine colored flowers. When I think of us starting to build our house next spring, I day dream of nice flowers & pretty landscaping. But the reality is I don't want to maintain it.

Getting ready to order my silver appleyards!!!! Torn on ordering some extra ducklings to help fill up the box. But I am using will power & only ordering the appleyards. I love the fact that the money from the peafowl covers the ducks so in reality the ducks are not costing anything & I still have money leftover.

Dinner tonight is frozen burritos. Yep going all out. DH says he should be home the rest of the wk, so I will save the real cooking for when he is home.

I'm just the opposite - love to grow flowers but can't seem to grow vegitables in Oklahoma. Our first Summer here was unusually mild, (didn't know it at the time). I had a great crop of everything but every Summer since it has been too hot for as much and too hot for me to get out and baby to plants.

Hubby asked me today when I was working in the hen house "How many do you have now?"
Of course my response was "not very many, I only get to count the ones that are laying... there are only 15 - 18 laying each day" and gave him my sweetest smile.
The eye roll on that was so dramatic!!

Went to OKC VA today for blood work. I hate when they do anything that they have to cut on me for. They wean me off my Warferin (blood thinner or mouse poison which ever you chose) then they make me give myself shots in the stomach twice a day starting 5 days before until a week after, starting back on the warferin the day after. The shots hurt like the devil, and my belly is nothing but knots and bright black and blue. I guess the bright side, from an angle looking just right the knots look like wash board abs.

. Then it is check the blood every few days till they get it right again. Today was about 1/2 what it was supposed to be, so get to change dose and go back Friday.

I have a broody question for all the old broody hen folks. Had a blue asil hen set on some eggs. They hatched and I swooped up the chicks and put in a brooder. The hen went right back to setting on her old nest. After day two I stuck a handfull of eggs that I had collected waiting for a broody hen under her. She has set them for 3 days now. Do you think she will go 2 full settings, or should I switch out under the next broody.
