***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I'm exhausted, time to hit the hay, hop up on the roost. See you all tomorrow.

ok, i have tried to post this repeatedly- just not my nite, will try again... thank you all about the chick- sure is a killer when you hatch the little buggers and nothing can save them

on snakes and such...i grew up with a scientist for a dad, we weren't allowed to not like critters- in high scchool we were moving and the rabbit cage had a big spider in the corner- so when we moved, maria went in a jar to be relocated- i kid you not! he taught us how fascinating they were- the bugs i don't like now are wasps, roaches and flies....

i never had a nn till Dragon, my bantam, given to me by Gotgame, and transported and housed by Kass... this girl has personality and a half! and a motor beak! when she needs to lay an egg, she gets out of the banty run, comes to the front door and waits to be let in to lay her egg, she walks over to the open cage, goes in and settles in....

kass, have you looked at the saddle feathers? rather than focusing on the comb?
She is sooooooo not kidding about motor beak!!!!!!! That girl talks in her sleep. I keep staring looking the feathers over, guess they aren't old enough for saddle feathers yet.

Hope no major parking rules. We are pulling the trailer. Just couldn't fit everything in the van while transporting extra kids. Well everything may have fit, but we are picking up a huge fan to mount on the side of the barn & we needed to leave room for any other unplanned purchases.
See everyone tomorrow!

Kass which birds have the thickest legs? Those are your Roos.

bahhhhhhhhh, fuzzy sissy chickens!

ya gotta have chickens with GAME in the name.

now thems some chickens!!!!!

jus kidding, wifey wants fuzzy sissy chickens, told her no but then she doesnt listen to me.
the black ones look like they are in a ballet, some would say that would be a sissy chicken.

Been a busy day. VA in OKC till mid afternoon, then get everything set to pull out early in the AM to head to POOPS. Didnt get around to making cookies, so u folks will have to deal with store bought ones. Will be bringin chicken trinkits, books, other poultry related items. A few Lahore pigeons, a few asils, few asil bantams and some NN pullets and cockerals.

Hi everybody. I haven't had time to look on BYC in probably a month or more, but I remember POOPS! Gerald and I will do our best to stop there before I have to be at work .... sadly I have to work my 10 hours every day of the week including Saturday night, so we can only stop by for maybe an hour or so to say hello to as many people as we can and buy our t-shirts. Things have been too hectic for us to even think about all our chickens, but so far they're still alive and kicking but sure need some TLC.

If we weren't already too busy with work and all our critters, we bought a fixer upper house 3 weeks ago, and Poor Gerald has been having some health issues ... in the past month he's been to the ER 3 times, a hospital visit for a few days and he had all his teeth pulled. At least he's still alive and kicking.

Sorry I don't have time to read back from when I was last online, and sorry I haven't time now to read all the messages that have been sent. Gosh, I sure wish I could buy some time! Got to run now.

Of course, we may just have to encourage each of you to go home with way more than you thought you might need. Thats what chicken addicts do. Try to get friends to become addicts too.

Just a quick note to say hey and wish everyone a merry POOPS Day tomorrow. Think of me at work while you are having all that fun.

My dogs have been fighting off something at night. My female Pyr paid a visit to the vet today. Got her stitched up.

Picking up 2 more GPs this weekend. Two big males for reinforcements.
So I guess you didn't get the GP/Anatolian puppies? Where will you have to drive to find 2 adult GPs that work together?

Kass~don't give up on Ms White yet. I bought the last 5 NN chicks that TSC had last year. One of the black ones, Stark, started turning pink and growing really big wattles and comb at about 3 weeks. The chick was enormous and so were its legs. About a week later the 2 buff NN did the same thing. It didn't bother me because Stark was going to be a huge gorgeous rooster. One day I found stark sitting on a nest which I thought was odd for a rooster to do. All of the sudden she broke out into her egg song, got off the nest and there layed a green tinted egg with brown speckles on it! I still to this day look at her and can't believe she is a hen. Oh, and the buff colored ones turned out to be hens as well.

Ms White, I'm thinking boy but really hoping girl, what do you guys think?

Gary calls this the "broccolli tree" they love sitting under and on this plant.

They love dust bathing almost as much as eating.

Was someone still looking for a silkie hen? Jaxon is bringing one to sell. Of course, he wants to turn around and buy silkie chicks if any are available.

He is the one deciding how many cages we will bring this year. He has "earned" money and is ready to spend it.
