I think that's just wonderful. Little does your son know that favorites pick US, not the other way around lol!KSANE: Yes it was a two month surprize in the making... Just when the kids begin to lose hope that we wont have chicks this spring... MOM (and Dad:even though deployed) DELIVERS .... They are so thrilled... already "sissy" tags hers... Son wants to wait until the personalities shine forth before he picks his favorites..

It's taken me a while to finally learn that lesson too. I would spin my wheels trying to save a chick that would die anyway. Now, I've learned to distinguish what can be helped or avoided and what can't.Theys probable lots of folks on this here BYC that have absolutly no use or like for me as I look at chickens in a differant light than most on here. BUT one thing I have learned thru the years hanging out with the chicken folk I have hung out with is it is survivale of the fittest, anything less is problems. Way to many people that dont know anything about chickens and meds go to pumping meds down their chickens at every sign of problems. LESS meds and MORE culling. Allow only the healthy birds to live and reproduce, anything less is problems. It is harsh I know, but in the end it is far better for the chicken world.
