***OKIES in the BYC III ***

hey anyone here with guinea experience? i have a lethargic one, actually walked up and picked him up and put him into isolation- worms maybe? any ideas?

Worming never hurts. We have only ever had lethargic birds after they got attacked or my one that was egg bound. Do you have a guess on his age?

I live in mcloud and the storm has not hit here yet. It looks pretty bad has it passed over y'all yet

We are in it now in Henryetta, but the TV went out so not sure how long until it passes. Lots of wind and lightening just a little rain so far. Much cooler winds.

I had a guinea hen with large waddles. The girl that we lost to egg laying it was probably her first egg ever & she was so still in the coop as she tried to pass the egg. After several hours of trying the egg came out & so did her insides. Poor DD was so freaked out.
I say a guinea falls under the title of poultry & If i were to suspect illness i would treat mine same as the chickens. However, guineas never seem to get sick. They are so much more hardy than chickens! Can you see any signs of him being hurt or picked on? I do hope he gets to feeling better.

Hey ya'll take these storms coming into the OKC area serious. We we on the edge of the first hail core that came through and we got golfball sized hail. We are bracing for the second round now. 5 inch hail is as big around as the exhaust pipe on a semi, take this seriously.

well, just checked on him/her and got hissed at, so thats a good thing... i managed to get some ivomec on the feet, no way to get it between the wings, so will leave him alone and hopefully he'll be better in the morning- no injuries i can see, just lethargic

Hope everyone is ok through the storms. I saw the clouds rolling in earlier went out and herded my flock into their houses and locked the up tight for the night.

Me too! Didn't want to wait for them to go in on their own. They weren't too happy to be put up so early though.

My rooster that was sick last week well he is better now I put him back with his hens today he was soooo happy. He crowed and talked and talked to his girls and did his little rooster dance. I'm just glad he is better
