The gardening gurus out there, what do I still have time to plant????
I have a massive volenteer winter squash that is looking very sad for seemingly no good reason, it is not overrun w/ any insects or disease that I can see. I let it grow b/c I thought even if I don't like whatever cross bred squash it produces it will make chicken food anyway. But if it is already looking sad there is no way it will make it through the summer so I'd rather replace it now. I plan on cutting it back completely or severly and will have quite a bit of room to plant something, just need some ideas of what I still have time for.
You can also plant June Corn and fall potatoes.Kass you can plant fall tomatoes, beans, melons, squashes cucumbers. Think those are the only things we are still planting right now. But I know there is more you can plant still
OH MY! that is a big accident!! Glad you can pick out some of them and determine some soon. Sounds like the hardest group will be the Birchen and Brown Reds...Those not hatched were probably easy to set in the hatcher by correct color. I don't know how you do it! 100!Had another hatching accident today.. they were a day early but apparently I missed the actual date yesterday while working outside came home to nearly 100 already hatched in the incubator, and more trying I moved them all to the hatcher. This is one group I will really just have to raise out to see what they are. I had Birchen and Brown Red both in this hatch and they look the same till they start to color up. The Silver Blue are easy they are Blue and no Brown reds there, The columbians I had 3 matings good thing I tell the difference in them by 6-8 weeks based on body and one by Comb (Rosecomb) The Blue Rosecomb will be easy as will the Birchen Rosecombs since I do not get any Black from the Blue Rosecomb mating and only Black from the Birchen. What a mess loosing track of dates is.. This may just be a group of sale birds so I dont have to worry about it.
