***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thanks for the welcomes!

If you want a good layer why are you looking for soy free? The birds do very well and lay very on soy based feeds, they are actually much less common than the 60+% corn based feeds.

I'd like to avoid soy for nutritional preferences and to avoid GMOs.

if you whant organic and soy free i would go with a whole grain mix you should be able to find organic whole grains easyer and cheeper than pellets

I was thinking about that and researching it a bit today. I started to feel a bit overwhelmed by all the opinions and recipes. LOL!

And thanks for the input MacGuyver!

Hi fellow Okies. Looking to get back into the chicken game and would love to find 3 nice hens. I am a huge fan of the Aracauna/Americauna (spare me spelling police). Wouldnt mind something of the white leghorn variety as well. I live in a town now and I am going the chicken tractor route so 3 is all I need. Thanks a lot and I cant wait to get some birds again.
