***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Had a great Father's Day!!! My kids took me to Sirloin Stockade for lunch, came home and took a nap!!! Having Sausage and Waffles for supper!!! Have another hen trying to go broody, not having very good luck with broodies this year for some reason. Hope everyone had a great day!!! Lynn

So I have been keeping my eye out for free lumber or other things that we can use in either add on or chicken coop. Today I seen an ad and was the first to respond. Good News is we went and got the lumber. Bad news: we broke down for about 20 minutes on the way there. Worse news: We get a flat tire on the way back. Good news: Mom brings tire and jacks. Even worse news: She arrives just as her radiator decides to bust. Good news: We get tire fixed and got mom some water to last till home. Even worse news: Almost home and the other back tire goes flat. Good news: Mom takes me to the house to get tire and better jack. I go back to him and viola we are cruising again. Even better news: We MADE it home with no incidents. The best news: We are settled in the house and I have a glass full of whiskey and coke.

Oh what a day! But now I have coops to build :)

I have a few question for those that use the big waterers and Oxine. 1) How much Oxine do you use per gallon in a waterer? We bought 5 gallon waterers and I love them but want to keep alge from growing in them. 2) How often do you change the water in a big waterer? I have 6 of the 5 gallon ones and 1 of the 7 gallon ones. I really want some 3 gallon ones too but those will have to wait until next month. Right now I am changing the water every other day.

Now how am I going to name my Roo boy and compete with a name like that?? lol

Ha! You could do what I did and name him after your favorite Doctor Who companion. I suggest Brigadier-General Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, of course!

What a terrible day! I agree with your solution at the end though.

I use an eighth of a teaspoon per gallon in a five gallon bucket with nipple waterers installed. I change it every four days or so.
