***OKIES in the BYC III ***

This week I chained myself to the sewing machine and made curtains for my bedroom. I used fabric I already had so didn't have to buy any new fabric at all. My husband likes to see that since I have soooooo much fabric. Now I just need to get them hung. They will take differant hardware then I already have up I really don't want to spend extra money on this project so now I need to go on a scavanger hunt around the house and garage and see what I already have that I can repurpose for this project.

Maybe at the next BYC get-together we should have a fabric swap?
I have a walk-in closet full.

Thanks nnbreeder, jen hens and lonnyandrinda. I have no idea of that store. It says open at 9 so I will wait a little bit to call. In any case one of the adds in craiglist that reply seems to have baby chicks. I candled again the only two eggs that my hen has and I am getting optimist of one. Took a pick this morning but nothing yet.
Hands down, people of Oklahoma are friendly!
I went to Lee's today, no baby chicks.

I think we're going to Newcastle tonight also. I'm looking for good sized feeders &/or waterers.

Today has not been a good day, all my plans for the weekend are ruined for me I'm in asthma exile.

I need to go write on the inside coop wall "Mena, Mena Tekal, and Parson"

My beautiful Oreo has been weighed in the scales and been found wanting and his days are now numbered,

As the hole in my leg testifies to.

What's wrong with Oreo??? I don't understand the post. Did he jump on you?

Breakfast we had a melon & cantaloupe that we picked this AM. I mowed down most of my early melon vines. We have already picked them clean & I didn't see any sign of new melons starting. This wk I boiled 9 dz eggs & put some of them in recycled pickle juice. The other eggs went into an empty green olive jar. The kids say the olive flavored are the best. They finished off the jar for breakfast. Guess it is time to boil some more guinea eggs!
Nana prayers for your MIL.

You must enlighten me on this Olive flavored Egg. We do like black olives here at my house!

The quote was from the "Handwritting on the wall" account in the bible. Yes he attacked me and punctured my leg today, this isn't the first time. He got me once before w/ injury and a couple of times w/o injury. One time I actually thought I killed him he had the miss fortune to attack me when I was close to a peice of metal and whatever he starts I finish, I keep hitting w/ what I have until he backs down. This has been going on for about 6 months or maybe a little less. I kept hoping it wouldn't come to this b/c he was sooooo good for so long and I really like him, but I won't be attacked by an animal I feed and shelter in my own yard. He is really good w/ his girls and w/ the teens there was no problem integrating them into the flock.

I'm 90% sure my leg is going to infect it is reall sore swollen and hard, it is a puncture, I tried to make it bleed as much as I could and washed it w/ soap and very hot water, as hot as I could stand, I need to figure out some way to soak it in epsom salts water, it is mid calf, so not an easy spot to soak.

Gary is convinced it's my fault he keeps coming after me. He says since I put myself as head he is challenging me. Which just makes me feel worse b/c I thought I was doing the right thing to keep him from being aggressive.
