We just bought our first cow! She's a Registered Dexter about 3 years old (her name is Sue). We can't get her until August since she has a calf with her. She's also just been bred, so when we do get her she should have a baby this spring. We go look at her tomorrow and give them earnest money for her. Should be interesting!

NaNa where do you get Viper? Wonder if it would work on those dang japanese beetles on my roses?
Saw the weather stats this morning. We have been wet 7 out of the past 9 days and dry 52 out 54 days prior to that! Now its supposed to start heating up again. Which makes it extremely muggy. Thats when I have to stay in,can't handle the heavy muggy air.
Gotta can tomatoes this morning. Nothing like what jcatblum is doing but a few anyway.

I found mine at S and S feed store in Shawnee. I bet a search on line would find a location near you.
Good for 60 different bugs including squash bugs and Japanese beetles. Treats birds for mites and treats for fleas. Spread it around yesterday from a can with a lid I had pumched holes in...worked great. No squash bugs much fewer grasshoppers. They also have ait in liquid form that can be mixed for a sprayer.

Can I just say Thank God this day is almost over!!!! Had to go to work not feeling 100% and then go get tires on the car. Got charged "labor" on tires I bought there to put them on, WTH? I questioned it they charge $10 hr per worker working on your car on top of the price of the tires. Not sure why it took two guys an hour to put two new tires on my little bitty car. I specifically asked them to duct tape the weights on the tires because last time I didn't make it a block before they started coming off. Well lost 2 on the way home and got home to see they are not taped on! I will be calling them tomorrow and talking to the owner.

Now I am going outside to spend about 15 mins watching my sweet birds they are sooooo theraputic some days!

I'll probably never jump off the "Feathered Legged, 5-Toed Bearded Rumpless" bandwagon long enough to get NN's so I'll live that saga through you all.
ETA: My Bantam Faverolles started laying a week or so ago, they were barely over 4 months when they started. They've got the cutest tiny eggs!

To make their prices look better they leave out little things like the cost of mounting and balancing or the fact that the tires have a lower speed or ply rating as the competators tires do.

When we had the tire machine at work a set of four mounted and balanced was only 30 minutes and it only took that long because I would wash down the rims really good to get a good balance.


If the weights are coming off then they are using the wrong type of weights, there are different ones for aluminum rims and steel rims, if using the stick-ons they are not cleaning the rims enough. I throw a weight on the one ton every now and then but it is usually in frame deep mud while getting pulled around. LOL

I talked to a lady today that had "new" tires put on her boat trailer at one of the lakes after she blew one of hers out. I have to check the dates tomorrow but one is weatherchecked on the sidewall and that is not usually seen until a tire is older, much older.


There is a DOT number on the tire and on one side of the tire that number will have a series of numbers (4 sets of 2 numbers) after it, the last two numbers denote the year that the tire was made, the set before that will denote which week of the year that the tire was made. This has been standard on ALL tires since 2000. So if the last series of numbers were say 01 08 that tire was made in the first week of 2008.

Before this many manufacturers used a code of their own for the manufacture date and most of the time only the dealers knew the code, it could get confusing at times.

And that is ya'lls worthless fact for this evening!!!!

LOL I've got one or two feather-legged NN x Marans and the chicks we hatch out of George's pen have five toes. Maybe I need to make a few crosses.

Your information is a lot more useful than all the stuff I learned and can tell you about obscure 15th century Italian painters. I can make a trip to a museun very interesting though
