***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The chicken eating cat is no longer a problem, but she got 3 chicks before we caught her. One of the NN chicks (the lightest of the 3) and two of the araucana (the bbr female and the silver duckwing female).

That just leaves me the male araucana chick.

I'm from Michigan but I am more used to the heat after 8 years here. 95* in the shade with a light breeze is comfortable to me now. To a typical Mchigander 85* is hot.
If you ever want to "travel" by Thread, the Michigan thread has nice, chatty people like the Okie thread but with a funny accent.

It was 96* in Choctaw last night after dark, that is pretty crazy.

Sorry, those were such nice birds.
Our outdoor cat is a serious hunter but seems to not even see the chickens.

Where can you buy the Frontline spray?
Here's one place:
http://www.twincitypoultrysupplies.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=435
But there's lot of other places, I've only ever found it online. It's way cheaper to get the generic Frontline on Ebay (called Fipronil) and give them each 1 drop. I do 2 drops with full grown LF Cochins but 1 drop for everyone else.

Need some advice here!!

How long does everyone keep their fresh eggs in their fridge? Just wandering whats the longest I can store them in the fridge before throwing them in the trash! Thanks everyone!
Don't throw them out. I've kept them for 6 months and couldn't tell any difference from the 3 week old eggs. When I have more than I need, I take out the older ones. Cook them up and feed them back to your chickens. Lots of good food and protein there.
