Can you tell me a little more about the Newcastle show? I've not heard of it.The show season is closing in fast, the first show outside of county fairs wil start in Newcastle come October, who all plans to show this year?

Those battery hens are often on a 32-37% protien ration, so the move, change in environment and feed source will have an effect as well as the horrible heat we had so give them a few weeks to adjust and I am sure you will be very happy with your purchase. You should be able to keep up good production for a few years out of them as they are often swapped out just before they are due to molt as they are only there for production and molting hens seldom lay well.
