See Mitzi. That was the problem I was talking about last wk. people post pics of their birds then innocent non expecting viewers are forced by the peer pressure & have to get more birds!! Think it might even be a form of bullying the way people force us into getting birds we didn't plan on having.....

Temps dropped so fast here I have 3 dogs crammed into one dog house trying to snuggle for warmth with 2 other dogs asking to come inside. Hardly any birds are out free ranging. Would think we are having a winter storm the way the animals are acting.

its 78 here- been out playing with critters- so JCcat, what is the temp your way for them to be cold?

It's 63 right now-- not sure what it was earlier but Taron went to check the ma & said it is freezing. Really dark out so imagine the lack of sun makes it feel colder.

Oh thank God. I was getting concerned I was going to have to take responsibility for my own actions. Now I shall remain an innocent victim!

Dark here in Shawnee too, I soooooo don't want to have to drive to the feed store and then walmart before going home. I bet all mine are all holed up in their coops instead of out free ranging too. Yesterday the all came back to their coops earlier than usual. I am sure it is the shorter daylight but still seemed weird. Well it is drizzling here now as well.

Well, I have decided to get rid of all my chickens except my naked necks my ameracaunas and my olive eggers. Anybody have suggestions on what breeds you couldn't do without?

well, i could never get rid of my seramas, faveroles or silkies- i love all my birds, but those are my favorites.... there are times i'd get rid of all but those, but then one of the others does something silly, like come knock on the door to visit- and i just can't downsize them!

For me it would be my Splash Marans and Lavender Orps. But then there would be the boys. Nathanael would never part with his OEGBs, Jackson would have to keep his Buff Brahma Bantams and Kurt would never part with his Duccles, Silkies or Partidge bantam cochins. Oh and can't forget hubby he would never part with his CWs or his SLWs.
