i'm not going to be there- BUT- i would sure bring a couple extra to be bird guards...no way would i leave mine unattended...who came up with that idea... they need to be strung up in the heat and see how they like it...ok...stepping off my soapbox....

I cant bring my chicken guard due to stupidity on my part I have to have him here for the rest of the flock.

OK OK no rambo Teach............ I am sure we can work it out. I am sure this is not the 1st one so maybe there will be some way to keep watch. I dont care if they were mutt birds I still dont want someone coming up to snatch birds. Ok I am sure it will be ok.

Ok birds picked out, water jug and water holder cleaned up, food tray all gathered up, note pad and pen in hand. Oh yea and tarp for shade. What else? I think I am ready.

Yes by all means Stimpy you are greatly missed.

Shaun and I are so excited about tomorrow. Marie said he could sit in on the class but couldn't take test.

Something about having to be 18 to be able to be state certified. But I'll always need an assistant chicken holder.!!

I drove through the parking lot of the Department of Agriculture on my way home from work this evening. There are several trees up close to the building and they are either smoking areas or there is no sun, because there was only dirt beneath those trees, instead of grass. Those areas will be visible from the front of the building and the offices that face that direction.

In the shade the birds should do fine. After all, at home my birds just go into the shade when it is hot. Chickens can pant and lift their wings to let off heat - so just be sure their cages give them the freedom to do that..... or put frozen water bottles in with them.

I also went by Italianos Pasta and Pizza and confirmed the dining room is reserved for at least 20 people - and picked up a menu to entice other attendees at the class to join us for lunch

HEY everyone,
Guess what? We get to get up early tomorrow~!
I'm utterly bored right now. There's not much to do, other than pack and unpack, any more since we closed on the house tuesday.
Anyways, I'm not sure what it was, but I'm not loosing any more chicks~!! Love all of ya'll, see some of you tomorrow.

That is good P&B I am changing plans on the pen I will take now, I was taking a pet carrier but since they will be outside for a little bit I will pu them in a cage out in the back of the truck and bring the pet carrier to carry them in IF i need to. Now I am assuming we are doing the testing outside?

Getting excited about seeing everyone now

Neecy - if you want a Flemish Giant buck, just let me know. I have 3 extra bucks, black or steel gray, that are about 3 months old and available for a reasonable price. I am going to enter one of them in the Duncan rabbit show on the 19th/20th and haven't yet decided whether to take the extras along to see if there are any buyers or put them on Craigslist. They don't have a pedigree - they were part of the group I bought off Craiglist in May.

I drove up to 122nd street this evening to figure out where I can meet you in the morning. I will PM you with my cell phone number.

Ok problem...............just my luck.............the birds I was bringing, the roo is making funny noises and gasping. Now I cant bring any of them in that pen, dont want to infect anyone else birds with what ever is wrong. Gonna get them some ACV garlic water and see if that will help him. I gues now I will try to catch the BYS birds in the teen coop.

Luvs... get on that....I have had a couple go down fast with it....Rasping one day.. dead the next... if you are into it Tylan worked like a charm and fast.

Doesn't look like we are gonna make it tomorrow...Mike is still at work and may end up there until the wee small hours...the big bosses really jacked something up by shutting down the substation. What irritates me is they did the same thing last year with the same result.... Long hours and lots of folks out of power.... duh...define insanity.... sometimes I wonder if the superintendent really has an electrical engineering degree...
