Henny - thank you for that wonderful prayer. It was beautiful and very timely.

Greybear, sorry that you are seriously under the weather. Stay out of the heat and drink your Gatorade. It will help your body get back in balance and won't hurt your diverticulitis.

BethinOklahoma - glad to hear your voicemail, I had been wondering if everything was alright. You are correct however, the computer can be a real time theft.

Teach, ya'll will probably survive if you make an effort at restoring the house to normal. It is the "what's wrong?" look that Mom's hate to see, as much as the messy house.

Na-Na - just take the incubator with you to the lake..... or time your visit so you can come home to check on birds on the day they are expected to hatch. I have some pheasants and guineas in the incubator right now that hatched while we were out of town, just waiting for me to "rescue" them. Fortunately, Jaxon insisted on checking the incubator right before we left, or I would have probably lost the 5 pheasants that hatched last Friday. The date on the top had a "+" mark on it because I had taken them out of a nest that a chicken had started setting on and then abandoned, so I wasn't certain of the hatch date.

What a great prayer, Hennie, and what a Mighty God we serve. He is great all of the time, in time of joy and in time of trial. Lynn, know that we are here praying for you and trusting God will for you. We were just studying Matthew 11:28 - 30, this morning in church. Isn't it wonderful to be yoked with Jesus who does all the work while we learn of Him and that we can have rest in Him?

Matthew 11: 28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Love Wins,
Cheryl

Thank you all for the prayers and thoughtfullness, the chickens are gone, a big thank you to BigOkie and his helper, they worked hard loading everything, thankfully the heat was not quite as bad this morning, we did get a rain shower early this morning that helped cool everything down some, I did hold on to my Americaunas, Austrolorps and some young RIRs for our egg supply, I will have to get better before I get more birds again, I thank my wife for her wonderful help in caring for me and everything else, thank you all for the prayers, Lynn

Sounds like you may have accidentally "subscribed to this forum" if you're getting a lot of emails. Here's how to make it stop:

1. scroll to bottom of page and click on "show my subscribed topics" from the list at the bottom left

2. click on the link shown in Search Results, then at the bottom of that page, above the "show recent posts" line, there should be a line that says "you are currently subscribed to this topic" and click to Unsubscribe.

3. click the Unsubscribe button and you should not get any more emails.

It's sometimes easy to subscribed to a topic since that link is right above the "show recent posts" link. Wish the mods would move that to somewhere else!

Good evening folks! We got the house back to almost clean...which is better than totally destroyed! Don't think the wife was to irritated. Three days of solid God time and workng with struggling Christians wears you down! They ate good! Heard some great testimonies...one even accepted Christ! Go figure! We might have gone a little clap happy! Several realized what love was! Anyways...gotta go to bed...We have school in the morning!

evening everyone, what a relief from the temps today! got the run almost done, have a temporary fence up so they could get out a bit- they really are funny chasing those butterflies!

ok,
spike update- after a day of vitamins and hand feeding, he is still alert, but occasionally kicks with his legs, he isn't able to stand and his balance is off, am hoping the vitamins kick in - poor little guy, was looking at various possibilities, besides wryneck and mereks, did find a reference to botulism- so he is sleeping in the bedroom in a laundry basket- was sure he wouldn''t make it- when o have done other bird rescue, they will revive for a bit then they are gone, hope this isn't that kind of situation... i really am in love with the breed!

Good morning, Okies
Looks like it may be a "relatively" cool day, with temperatures in the low 90s.

Time to get started with outside activities so I can get back inside before the heat hits.
Ya'll have a blessed day and stay hydrated and in the shade as much as possible.

Good morning everyone. Well, i woke up an hour earlier than usual and it is proving to be beneficial. So far i have feed and watered the chickens, washed a load of laundry, swept and mopped the kitchen floor. Now Im getting ready to vaccuum then Im off to run errands and hopefully this evening I will get time to mow. Taking advantage of the cooler weather. Yall have a great day and stay safe!

Sjarvis - Gees, I'm pooped just reading your post. Same stuff
on my "list" but none of it's done yet....LOL

And, I'm gonna need some extra energy from somewhere for
the next few days. There is a little "half-brother" between
these two kids. He lives with his biological father. For no good
reasons, these kids haven't gotten to be together for several
years. For some reason, his father has decided to let Chris
come down for a few days. He's 13 now. It's one of those deals,
"We love the kid, but we don't know the kid". Am praying that
he's still our Chris and for all to go well so we can start doing
this on a regular basis. He needs a solid block somewhere in
his "non-self-inflicted, massive confusion, young life".

So, God willing, the fish will be biting, the creek will be cool,
and Teach's quail eggs are gonna hatch like popcorn. That'll
totally fascinate this poor city kid....LOL

Hope everyone is feeling better and getting regrouped from
all that our group has been through here lately.

Have a good one !

LOL... hens....

Well I spiked a 102 degree fever yesterday. Mike and I roofed the coop. I tried to get him to hold off, but he wanted to get it done... by bedtime I was a mess. I called a pharmacist friend and asked her if I could start some Cipro that I had as I was worried what I thought was virus, might be bacteria. Feel way better this morning and have been reading up on bacteria... campylobactor or salmonella...from peeps. Maybe I dropped the ball somewhere. I try to keep everything disinfected to the nth degree...and wash wash wash. But I do have a lot of chicks. The thing is Mike got it first. And he is never out there much... not like me with the scooping, scrubbing etc. Then I get it like a month later. Kinda of a long time to take a virus to pass, don't ya think? What do you guys think?

It is so nice out. Cloudy and cool. Need to go finish peep fence.
