We are finishing up our coop-porch - here are a few photos, have more on flickr

the coop is attached to the mobilehome, the run extends from under the porch, and the fence is being cemented into the ground, since we live on rock... the porch and coop are on cemented posts. we are also preparing another mini enclosure in the run for the guineas, total run size is 24 x 16-

then we moved the bird feeders next to the run so the girls could clean up the seed, these two discovered why wait!

I quickly gave him to another hen that was hatching out her brood.

I hate it when these little guys get to the size that they don't want to get along. If they are out of site of each other for a few hours, its like they have never met and hate each other!Lol.
Isn't it about time for that Teach guy to show up?

He must have went to the hinter lands where there are no puters!
How the building go today Al? hope you didn't over heat.

I'm stuck here at work on this beautiful Saturday evening

OK, I know it's hot out there, but I wanted to go to the Blanchard auction. I hear that Buckguy, Sjarvis, chiclooker, oldmotherhen and Buster are there and of course auctionlover.

Gerald took his silly green army truck to the auction today too. He told me there's only about 50 people there today, and 900 rhode island red hens selling in the auction.

Hey, here's a link to a snake trap like nnbreeder has described before. I think I need to try this!

As soon as I hear back from Gerald, I'll let ya know what the RIR hens are selling for. I would just imagine the price will eventually go very low for them.

Gerald said he took a picture of Monty next to his truck. I'll try to post the pic tomorrow.

Bricker, I'd say you did good by not going to Blanchard with your RIRs this weekend. You should try Blanchard in 2 weeks though, unless you want to try Lexington on Monday night or Maud on Thursday night.

I'm having auction withdrawals, so I may have to take a day off work & go to the Maud auction ... I'm dreaming/scheming. At least they don't start selling the birds til later in the evening (after the goats).

Was it hot where you were? It was over 100 in the shade here. I keep telling myself I'm not going to hatch any more eggs, but I keep setting them anyway. I hatched 9 top hats today. They all look healthy and strong. My husband says this is my silly hatch, and maybe he's right, but not everyone can be serious all the time.

They are adorable chickies!

Oh, it only got up to 105 in Tuttle today. When I came thru the gate at Tinker today, the sign showed 107, but I think it might have been a little off. It sure feels hotter! We are surrounded by concrete & work in a metal aircraft hangar. I feel sorry for the aircraft mechanics I work with. At least I get a little office with A/C, but they get nothing but fans that probably aren't blowing directly on them.

Gerald took quite a few dozen of our hatching eggs to the Blanchard auction today. Gosh with the heat, they are probably already incubating.
