the cornish x americana crosses are bigthere is some people in arkansas sellin them on craigs list.i have some pics on my other pc that is down right now.they say they make some super meat birds.im tryin them myself.i got a trio of dark cornish from greybear they are just not breedin age yet.im going to put the hens with my americana flock an pen the roo with a half dozen americana hens.

I know that lots of people are trying different crosses with the cornish because of the rock cross problems. I haven't experienced the problems that others have with birds up to 10-12 pounds but I'm just wanting to mix it up a little and experiment.

the people i sell alot of my meat chickens too told me the meat on the rock crosses just is too mushy an too white.they all like darker skinned chickens.i sell all mine to the asian an hispanics.the hispanics want really big roos an hens

Oky-doky...I think I am back. It takes awhile to recover from trips and then running off to OKC like I did really messes with a person. I would have hollered but couldn't leave until late and as it was didn't get home till midnight!

I want that snake! Only why did they get rid of the insides?

I think I missed a flat top joke and I will be using the line about fat folks being harder to kidnap...although I haven't had any offers in awhile.

I hate hot weather! I leave town and birds die. My wife called me one night bawling...lost about 1/3 of the quail and a bunch of chicks. Guess I need to go visiting again!

Well folks! Congrats for all of you who have new additions to your families.

I told my daughter she would have to wait til I am in my 40s before making me a grandmother. Not really worried about that she is really focused on school and work so maybe in 5 years or so. I am so proud of her!!!

Ok so I got hit hard by predators this last weekend and lost 12 birds. I am so frustrated.

I am pretty sure hawks got four of them but the rest I just do not know because there is not any feathers, bodies, nothing.

It has motivated me to get the coop done. I will take pictures when It is totally complete. I still have not had the slabs laid but coop can just be transferred on to it once it finished. It is funny watching the birds take turns going in and looking at the rennovations. Got the side panel off with chicken wire up, and put the fan in so they have good air flow to keep them cool. I also started getting the nesting boxes rack finished. Going to have to go to Habitats tomorrow to get some pvc (the guy there always gives me a good deal).

Hey does anyone have any square buckets that cat litter or laundry soap comes in. I need about 10. I have 4 cool, heavy duty metal boxes I would trade for them. Lids would be great as well.

Well I better get off here and finish dinner and the such. Hope everyone has a great evening. It is supposed to start cooling down to a freezing 94 degrees this weekend. Wow is that sad or what?
