he got that from me LOL, country all the way but educated in the north hehe. I am only clinging to the fact that my recent loss of hair was voluntary.

My mom told me when I was little to never dye my hair or sniff anything up my nose. She told me a lot of other stuff that I didn't listen to like I should have, but those two things have stuck so far. But...I've told my friends that the day I find a gray hair is the day I become a redhead. I don't spend a lot of time looking at my hair for gray ones - I don't want to be put to the test! Hair dye is a gateway chemical.

I didn't stick the song in your head, Al did it!

LOL, at grey hair, it is a woman thing that you guys have to deal with and catch flack for. I tease my hubby all the time about his grey but ya know I gave him half of it.......I will only take the blame for half no matter how hard he tries to cinvince me.

Okay, please clear something up for me...

How do you get a bigger bird than a Dark Cornish by breeding it to a relatively small bird like an Araucana?

Sorry if that's a stupid question. Just trying the get a handle on the genetics issue. I took a couple of classes on it in school, but it was never my strong suit.

Actually, took the same class twice because the first time...

Well, let's just leave it at that.

I too am a little baffled by genetics lingo, from what I gather the premise is body conformation from the male, and feather color and growth rate from the female. but then again there are so many more variables to consider, that is where they lose me.

And if you hold a lit Zippo in the stream as you spray it becomes effective against everything!

Cool! I need to try that!

Marybeth here is the proper way to handle skunks

Step-1 Once in the trap take pictures and talk to it.

Step-2 Reach down and carefully prop open the door.

Step-3 Wave bye-bye as it exits the cage!

This skunk has been around here since it was about 6 inches long and on many occasions I have been close enough to touch it. It grubs around the pens and in the yard and we tolerate each other. Last winter I replaced pipes in the well house while it was behind the pressure tank. How do I know it's the same one? Look at the stripes. they only run to the shoulder and stop leaving a black body and tail.

Attention ! All available okes!! (Hennies does a reasonable nasal WalMart employee impersonation)

Hope you all are up and kicking. It's hot here already and they have extended our heat advisory till Thursday.

The girl I work out with, her mom lives in Elk City, and she is giving me a free evaporative cooler. It needs work so Mike is going to check it out and see if it is salvagable. That is going to be a big help. Our humidity is running 15-19%...I figure as long as it's down there, I'm good. Mike and I keep having this debate. he says we live in the desert. I say the southern plains. Honestly I think he wins this one.

Tina! Gorgeous granddaughter. How's Mom holding up? Lotta stress with a preemie.

Love you guys....
