Hey Greybear - I finally found the box of worm lookin' dog food
and Bill took a bag of it out there this morning for a test drive.
They went nuts !!!! So, am thinking this will work like a charm.
Thanks again.

Is a hot puppy here in Tahlequah today. They say "maybe"
some rain tomorrow. We're already needing some more.
Buckguy - Can't you arrange for a high of 78o with partly
cloudy skies for POOPS ?????

Have a good one !

Coon !!! it's the only preditor thats kills just to kill and could of had the tenacity to find a 3"opening 8' up in a 300sq ft coop. That is my guess. I am way bummed.

Al - That totally stinks ! Am betting it will be back tonight.
Hope you have something in the trap in the morning. We
caught a couple of coons back in the spring, but since then
it's just been the darned snakes here. Seems everyone is
getting hit this year. Is soooooo frustrating.......... NaNa

That's just brutal, Al. I'm so sorry this happened. Based on the pics, your condo looks impregnable. Man, I hate losing birds, but to lose your favorites...

Sounds like a coon, no?

I think I avoided a disaster last night. My Rosie was barking up a storm and I grabbed the gun to go check. She usually barks from the area where the chickens are or just attacks the intruder, but this time it sounded like she had something cornered by the pond, so it was like it was too big for her to take or something (which is kinda scary). Anyway, I came up with my flashlight and she was distracted by me for a moment. Some sort of big short tail or tailless cat bounded out past her and headed into the dark. She took after it and I followed but it got away.

That dog sure earns her keep now that we have birds.

Hope you are able to replace your loss quickly. Let me know if there is something I can do.

Thanks Buster & Eulaine & Carah, I have never lost any chickens except for a turkey last spring and we all know how smart they are, dumb as a box of hair. So now I guess, oh hell I dunno !!!!.

The strength and tenacity of raccoons never ceases to amaze me. Hope you have your answer in the live trap in the morning. So sorry about your loss.

If your daughter is reacting to gluten and soy try rice milk and flour. Walmart sells Rice Dream and it is not bad tasting. I like it on my cereal. At the health food stores they sell cake and cookie mixes, as well as, breads that are gluten free. I believe you can also find pizza crust mixes that are gluten free.
There is a lot of information on recipes and foods for individuals that are lactose and gluten intolerant.
Hope everything starts calming down for you and yours.

Well I am really wishing I could have been part of the tofu conversation last night. I have been laughing so hard reading all of your posts about it.
Tofu as Bees has so educated everyone (thanks a bunch) is made from soy and so is most of the vegetarian meatless meat products. I actually do not eat tofu that often but once in a while I will fry it with peppers and onions and put it on a whole wheat hogie bun with cheese. With a bit of seasoning that is some mighty fine eating.
I do use quite a bit of Morning Star and Boca products and have been told my meatless meat loaf is pretty darn good. My friends keep telling me that since my meatloaf does not have meat in it I should just call it loaf, but really what is everyone going to think if I say I am going to go make a loaf. Really now!!

Al I have been a vegetarian for 15 + years and have been ribbed about it for 15 + years so I do not take offense. And no I am not going to try to put a cow through college. For some vegetarianism is a choice, for me, not so much.

I just think it is funny seeing peoples reactions to being a vegetarian, heck it is so worth it. hehehe

I think maybe I should start summiting vegetarian recipes every week. What do you all think???
