I wont know how he will taste I figure a fish that size has been around for a while so I let him go so that those genes can stay in the gene pool lol

We think alike, not that ive caught anything that big. I love to do the catch and release even though the wife says im just wasting time fishing if i dont keep any

but I hate cleaning fish unless im realy hungry for fried fish. Your right at that guy being around for a LONG time. Cats get big but it takes years to grow that size. I cant remember how many lbs they pack on a year on average but it was less than you'd think if I remember right.

I wont keep any more fish than I plan to eat, if I remember right a catfish will gain .8lbs - 1.2 lbs per year.

I guess I should let everyone know, just in case there is someone out there that knew my uncle. He was Reverend Bill Long from Tuttle. The service is Monday at 2:00 pm at the Tuttle Methodist Church.

Monty - Thanks for the compliment.

Sadly that picture was from earlier this summer.

But I'm getting there.

Ronnie - I was disappointed I didn't have the chance to weigh my cat! It is my best catch yet. I'm big on catching, but not so much cleaning, so he got to go back. 'Footprints' is on my uncle's funeral program.

Henny - Thank you for the words of encouragment. I did a copy and paste on that one.

Carla - I tried to buy you bunny and send it home with Gerald, but he just wouldn't have it.

Cammie, Unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure of meeting or knowing your uncle. However, I'm sure the city of Tuttle was extremely blessed to have had him as a clergyman for our community.

Oh, and I'm glad Gerald didn't bring a bunny home although I really like rabbits

We just don't have time for any more critters! Now you on the other hand, could use some MORE CHICKENS! I'll have to see what we can do to help you out

Carla or Cammie, when you are ready for some rabbits, whether pet or for meat, let me know. I can put you in the business!

A really nice lady that is also a member of BYC in another state sent me the following in an email, and I just have to share with all my fellow Okies. I love ya'll

"One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore."

No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."

Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick.

This is true for marriage ... and old cars, and children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, family and aging parents and grandparents.

We keep them because they are worth it ...... because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce.

There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important. We only have one.

We only have one mom, one dad, one unique brother or sister or friend.

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way.

Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way.

Suppose one morning you never wake up..

Do all your friends know you love them?

I was thinking....I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.

Let every one of your friends and family know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do.

And just in case GOD calls me home . . .

I LOVE YA !

Live today to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised."

Cammie, I don't know if I would recognize you if you weren't smiling. I will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Funerals can be really hard but some of them can be a real blessing.
I lost a good friend this summer and her funeral was really neat. A bunch of people just shared about her life and it wasn't sad like most funerals I have been too.
You know your uncle lived his life in a way that heaven was to be his reward and he got the chance to go receive it.
It is hard for those left here but if given the chance to come back, I think he would say "I think I'll just stay where I am."
"I'll be waiting here by the Eastern Gate."
But know that your family is in my prayers.
God Bless,
Monty
