He is coming back out again tonight, dang it anyway he had to get shots to start school. He gonna be cranky. Nanna has a nice Popsicle for him tho. He is alot of help when it is time to gather the stragglers up for bed time.

LASHAWNB, If you still have the rooster I will buy him from you if you can find me a feed store in Bartlesville that sell Diatomaceous Earth in 50 lbs bags. I found some several years ago in Bartlesville on highway 75 but I have no listing for any feed store there. I like to have the rooster but not for free I got some easter egger pullet I would put him with.

WOW, I didn't see that coming. Ummm, Ok, where abouts are you & what kind of a set-up do you have? I talked to one guy on Freecycle that I got a ~wierd~ feeling he was going to use him for fighting. YIKES! He had 2 roos & was willing to adopt another?!?!?! Just so you'll know, I put my bird on craigslist today & had 6 responses on my email tonight! Holy cow! Soooo....tell me bout your set-up, how many chickens, etc.
DE, I bought food grade thru the internet because I couldn't find any here; however, that was before I met Tony at the FeedMart on Tuxedo. They have only been in business for 6months, but are really very nice & want the business. She is talking to her mill for me to see if they can come up with an organic poultry feed for a reasonable price. She also got some straw delivered for me when NO ONE else in the area can get their hands on any. I will pick it up Saturday.
Do you want fresh-water food grade "fossil shell flour" for your birds or other livestock? or is it for your garden? There
may be a big diff in price. If I can find a source that doesn't require a minimum purchase, I know Tony would be willing to get it.

We hatched 47 chicks today. A combination of silkies, buff orpingtons and white guineas. They are all available for a reasonable price or will be going to the next big auction ... or not. I might keep some silkie chicks

Here I go again ... I say we're downsizing and then I want to keep more. I'm beginning to think I have that animal hoarder disease. I just might need counseling! Hopefully they don't come confiscate all my critters and lock me up! I guess they don't do that unless I start neglecting them?

Also for sale, are some older chicks, including jersey giants and if I can tell them apart, some ameraucana or easter egger rooster chicks about 2 months old, and a black bantam cochin chick. The cochin chick came from eggs that I got from a lady in California. She said her birds are show birds. Anyway, since only one hatched and I don't intend to get any more ... my black bantam cochin chick, possibly show quality, is also available. My guess is that it's a rooster.

Eventually, we'll downsize on some turkeys also. First, I want to make sure I have a couple of toms and at least 4 or 5 hens of each variety ... bourbon red, royal palm, blue slate, naragansett, and chocolate.

I'm seriously thinking of going to the next Chupps auction, but is it a good place to sell or just buy? I sure need to sell some chicks to replenish the feed money. Gerald thinks this raising chickens is a business and they have to pay for themselves or they don't eat, lol. Awhh, but we spend the big bucks at the feedstore every week regardless. I wouldn't want to spend my extra money any other way. It's much more rewarding to spend money of the critters than any material things.

Lashawn, I want the DE to worm my goats with I live in Claremore and can't find any in this area. As for the chicken fights I have a few each day nothing serious just playing. I have around 64 chicken two older hens and 62 around 12 weeks I think I have 39 or 40 pullets and there around 10 easter egg pullets I want to cross with a banty rooster to get some hens that will set all the time. I have a pair of blue polish and I could use him. I like the light brama chickens I don't really need him but I could use him to get what I want.
If you can find some DE post their number and I can call them and if you can't find your rooster a home and I drive to Bville to get the DE I would buy him. I would like to buy some silkies and Cochins bantys.

Thats funny, I posted two free roosters yesterday on Craigslist and I have had several replies and when I try to contact them or meet with them to give them away they either do not return my calls or do not show up. Mine are both bantam cochins though.

When you try to give something away most people think their something wrong with them it just like selling something if the price is to cheap they want come and look at it. When I was selling top of the line hunting dogs if I price them around 5,000 the rich hunters wouldn't try them out but when I put a high price of 20,000 on them they all wanted to hunt them because they new they had to be good.

EngieKisses, if you had a couple of cochins hens to go with one of the rooster I would buy them from you. I was going to order some cochins and silkies when the weather cools up some.

OKCARLA,

I'm seriously thinking of going to the next Chupps auction,

If your going to come e-mail me a price list on your turkeys a couple of hen and a tom { Reds} and some of your silkes I could meet you that morning before the sale starts.

I tried selling them through craigslist for what I paid for them when they were younger chicks. No one replied at all. There is nothing wrong with them other than they are roosters. We have 8 cochins, however, 3 of those 8 are roosters. That makes my ratio a little high.
I would gladly include some hens if I had any to spare, sorry. I will have some chicks when they go broody, but that will be awhile. They are close to laying age, but not quite there yet. I am going to let them hatch some of their eggs first.
Then I need to find an ameracauna rooster to go with my hens and this spring I am going to use the cochins to hatch their chics to introduce new blood to my inherited flock.
The whole craigslist experiance makes me think twice now about selling one of my bearded dragons there. Oh well.....

, but many people don't know they are the same.

As for the banty rooster, my DH is having a cat fit because he is rooooooing more now & wants him gone ASAP. I talked to a guy that lives really close to bville, & can pick him up at 4:30 today, but isn't really set up for it yet. Could you come today? I am going to call the other guy and ask him if he
reeeeally wants the rooster or if he would be OK with me
giving him to you, if you can come today. (BOY, that was a
Keyboard full) Hope you see this email soon, my DH is crowing louder than the rooster now.
