The KOA Kampground is called the Oklahoma City East location.
It is located at 6200 South Choctaw Road.
It is about 20 miles East of downtown OKC, ten miles East of Midwest City and about 20 miles West of Shawnee just off of I-40.
It is about three quarters of a mile North of I-40 on Choctaw Road.
The phone number is 405-391-5000 or 1-800-562-5076
Information is easily found on the KOA website and you can make reservations on line.

Please mention POOPS when making reservations at KOA.

There are numerous motels on I-40 in nearby Midwest City and Shawnee.

Hi everyone as you know the fall P.O.O.P.S will be Sept. 26th. It has been decided that we would have a Pot luck lunch & dinner! We are looking for foods that are just as good cold as they are hot.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in. We will also have limited space to keep things cool between lunch and dinner, so if you bring something that needs to be kept cool make arrangements for that. For some folks that travel you could possibly have your ingredients made and put them together on site. Keep in mind the number of people that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

We will also need paper goods, silverware & drinks. I have a couple of large igloo coolers that can be used for tea & kool-aid. If you have an one we could use let me know. I will need volunteers for set up before each meal along with volunteers for clean up after.

Please contact (PM) myself or TJ’s Nana if you have any questions or if you need a suggestion as to what you can bring. I will keep a running list of items.

Volenteer's for set up & clean up: (will work on times later)
Okiechick

Sooner~ Cheesy Chicken Soup (crock pot)

I haven't seen an ugly rooster yet, but have seen one who very nearly lost his head to a dog..He was Rhode Island Red, and had a gash 3/4 of the way around his neck, mostly on the back side..After initially trying to avoid me, I managed to catch him, doctor him, and then convince him I was his friend..He later decided I was his WIFE, and tried to get me to go to the trees with him and his brother at night..It was so funny and cute..He would pluck at my elbow til I moved my arm so he could jump into my lap..I could carry him anywhere..In the evening when it was time for bed, his brother would head off toward the trees next to my yard, calling to his brother to come on..His brother would reluctantly walk away from me, looking over his shoulder at me and talking, then he would come back to me, talk at me, walk away talking again, etc..He was just so sweet..I eventually had to put them both in a pen because of the dog problem..
I do love chickens..

There are a few breeds your birds could be, but being from a feed store, I am guessing your red chickens are Rhode Island Reds (or New Hampshires or Red Stars) and your black and gold ones are Golden Laced Wyandottes

That's kinda what I thought. I just wasn't sure. I think that the red ones are New Hampshires. I know that the black/gold ones are not Golden Laced Wyandottes because of the comb. They are black with gold feathers on their head and neck only. I've been researching them since March trying to figure it out. One of these days I will get some pictures posted so maybe someone can help. Thanks.

Or coming from Atwoods, they could be anything at all.

If the black ones with gold head and neck feathers are pullets, they could be black sex-linked. My black sex-linked hens are great egg layers.
