Speaking of auctions, one of my favorites is next weekend in Elgin. The Bridges FARM & RANCH EQUIPMENT Auction is next Saturday and starts at 9 AM. I have picked up many good deals at that auction in the past.

Al, Jeannie, you ever go to that thing? I love it. I'm going if I don't have to work. And I'll still have time to go to Blanchard after it is done.

Just stopped in to say Hi it's half time and we are headed back out again in a few minutes, we had a great time on the lake all the reports said it was very slow fishing. I guess we didn't get the memo, here is some of what we caught .

yep we were just talking about that with our guinea chicks- poor things, their navigation skills are lacking, 2 days ago they are sitting on the roof, 3 make great takeoffs and land in the yard, the fourth took a wrong turn tried to land in the tree, hit the branch and then the ground, he is still limping- considered catching him, but 1- they are fast, 2 it would stress him more to be held- what is interesting though is how the others watch over him, to make sure he is keeping up- he is limping... poor little guy- then my BA hen jumps straight up in the run, and now is limping- at first her toes were curled, now they have straightened out, but she keeps stepping on that foot- so i have to keep her isolated because roo is clueless, and she runs and hides- forget tv, this is more interesting as they learn to be a flock

oh- add hubby and i to poops- probably just for the day, was thinking of bringing some of the small art cards i sell on ebay, so if anyone wants a specific breed, let me know-

Teach - can you say that you "survived" the first week of school?
POOPS is Sept 26 at the KOA where we had the Spring POOPS. We are bringing potluck so there is more time to visit.
You and Stimp are in charge of humorous tall tales

I am still alive and kicking. Al was busting my chops about not being all gung ho for POOPS. Sorry if I have seemed out of it. Told Al it was because I am... Haven't been the same since my Mom's ordeal in April. Sorry situation for a Christian to be questioning the meaning of life and all. I am just really drained. When I am stressed I paint...so I scraped the ceiling in a bathroom and painted the bathroom. Scraped my Mom's old ceiling and painted that room. Painted the hall and my living room including ceilings. And the entryway ceiling. I am tinkering with the idea of doing the dining room and ceiling. Found a nice soothing color and feel the need to be soothed in all rooms...LOL... With all that, going to the gym, and visiting my Mom and taking care of chickens...I'm beat. My sister is flying in next week with my neice. Want everything done by then.... We will be at POOPS with bells on, barring any crisis with my Mom. What would POOPS be without the Sausage King, anyway? If Teach does the service Sunday morning I will volunteer to do worship again. And assist any way I can.

Al... those are some nice fishies. If I ate fish I am sure they would be wonderful...That haircut makes ya look younger. I just gave Mikey the summer peeling.

I have a anecdote about chickens and the silly things they do. I have one of those standing, oscillating fans from Walmart. I put it in my south coop since the north coop has the cooler. Helps move the air around in there a bit when it gets bad. I went in and my 3 little black peeps were roosting on it... have you ever tried to clean chicken poop off a fan? What a mess. So tonight I left it on so they wouldn't roost on it. I was out closing up the coops for the night and I kept hearing this funny clicking noise every once in a awhile. I finally tracked it down. One of my big RIR roos was on roost right next to the fan and his sickle feathers kept getting sucked into it when it moved that direction...what a nerd. He just sat there. I figured...he don't care...I don't care....LOL
