Thanks! I think that's a good number for this size area, 12 hens and a rooster is about right for us. It's just the wife & I so if just half the hens lay at the same time that'll be more eggs than we need.

This coop & run are sitting in a 1 1/2 acre fenced field, so I'm thinking that once I have settled chickens I should be able to let them out once or twice a week to roam the field.... when the garden is not there

My neighbor came walking over and asked what I was building, I told him it was going to be my personal fertilizer factory, I don't think he got it... here's ur sign.

I do plan to cover the top, I'm going to use a PVC pipe frame up there running from 4 x 4 to 4 x 4 then use self tapping screws to attach the wire. On the other hand, that neighbor of mine does not have his covered, his run is a lot bigger and he just used T-posts, so maybe the predators will prefer his chickens over mine

There's someone here 4 days a week, the wife is the court clerk in Claremore, shes off on the weekends. I deal poker at River Spirit Casino at 81st & Riverside, off on Monday & Tuesday. So they'll only be left alone durring the day for 3 days a week.

Got a good deal on craigslist today. Eight muscovy ducks for free! What is it NaNa says,Free isn't cheap enough!Lol. I didn't really plan on getting any muscovys but they will make good trading material. There are four drakes and four hens all grown. I will proably keep one drake,he is silver and white,and trade the rest for hens that I like to go with him. All the rest of these are black,my least favorite color.
Been moving clucks around all day,trying to get places toi put the younger generation comming on. I'think I have to many breeds going again!Its that addiction thing again. Lol.
Allen Great looking setup. It should hold at least a hundred or so! Oh I forgot you haven't got stage three addiction yet!

Well got supper ready! Anybody want to drop by? Fried chicken(not any that I raised!) ,gravy,rice,hominy,fresh okra with alittle tomatoe and onion fried,and fresh tomatoes and cucumbers,and homemade bread.

And we wonder why my heart doctor cringes when I walk in the room!

And this is for three people! Well actually two and an eighty-one year old child! She will take two,three bites at the most and shove her plate across the table in disgust!

Of course only if the recipes are up for sharing,

It looks like things are coming along nicely and there will be quite a turnout. Do you update that first link with new info?

I'm sorry I haven't been posting on here, I've been a bit overwhelmed.

My horse has not been returned to me, but apparently, the man that leased my horse has stolen it and turned around and SOLD it to his uncle. The uncle will not allow me to see my horse unless I pay him $5,000 in order to get him back.

SO, I went to the sheriff in that area. Nothing is being done about it unless I can do it through the court system. I am in the process of getting an attorney, hopefully one that will help in this area.

So, now ya'll are at least caught up.

I REALLY appreciate the help you all are providing for me, but unfortunately, it seems as though it's between me and these two people until I can get an attorney's attention. I'm debating getting the media involved, but would rather keep it low key.

Howdy Folks! Just went and showed a nice lady my birds! I loves doing that! Makes me feel important!

Anyways...any interest in a couple goats? They are supposedly registered (I ain't claiming it)...anyways...it is a buck and nanny milk type...nubian I think. Anyways...a guy has them...cheap...let me know I will bring them to POOPS if there is interest.
