Monty ;
Did you say you had Quail hatching, I mentioned this morning that mine were due to start. Came home nothing yet, went to feed & water maybe 10-15 minuntes came back in and there 7 out already. I like watching Quail hatch they don't fool around they get it in there mind to Zip and BAM!!! their out, not like waiting hours for a chicken egg.

So folks get ready for Quail at POOPS, A&M whites/Tuxcedo's/Browns all will be ready for POOPS.

Andis - so glad you know what it is. Do you guys know if DE will kill the suckers? I mix DE in their food and sprinkle it in their house and run. It is one thing I am liberal about.

(Thanks again, poultryand bees!!)

DE will do it for sure, I am a liberal user of it myself. ut oh did I just use the L Word (liberal) LOL. Beth I like it for allot of reasons keeps the smell down and works good on flies too & in nest boxes.

I plan on attending the POOPS. I have a few more chickens than I can handle in my backyard and will bring them with me. The chickens that I will bring with me to POOPS are:
4 Pure Black/Blue Ameraucana chicks (one month old)
3 EEs (12 weeks old)
2 RIRs (12 weeks old)

Is anyone interested in these chickens?

Here are the parents of my Ameraucana chicks...

Yikes! I'm sure whatever you are able to bring will be well-appreciated, even without you risking your life

So there is no need for you to try redoing that candle!
Thanks

I am in the same boat. I didn't write them down so am not sure to what all I've committed to. Just let me know.

Carah remember you want all the chicks I can hatch and Donna you asked me to save you all of my young roosters and at least 100 quail.
Man this is easy pickens.

Monty--aren't you the funny one. I think I need one more quail like I need a hole in the head.

I tried to get my DH get rid of the ones we have and he loves the dumb things. All they do is POOP and eat. We have over 100 bigger birds and about 100 in the bator. Then my DH has the nerve to tell me I need to figure out what we're going to do with them. We actually got them to eat but haven't so far.

As far as the roosters...man you're crowing up the wrong tree...have a few too many now. However, Monty you made me laugh and I certainly needed that. I've had a rough 2 days at work and nothing better than a good laugh. You better be saving those jokes up for POOPS cause I sure am looking forward to a good dose of laughter.

Tara, you should be getting your Idabel show catalog any day now. I just got mine yesterday.
As I'm sure you saw at the last show there really isn't "tons" of competition, so you definitely should "risk it" whatever state your roo's tails are in

I have exactly the same thing going on right now, Quail and chickens eggs in all at once my quail are due today and tomorrow chickens a few days later. I see a problem with humidity control levels, but then again I am also trying my hand at this dry hatch theroy which should have in my thinking a minumal effect on the staggered hatch. what do you think??.

AL

This is an easy fix. Stop setting the quail breed that hatches in 18 days and start setting those that hatch in 23, if the timing remains the same all the eggs both chicken and quail should hatch on the same day... Dah Dah!!! Do I get a prize??

Try Reds or Georgia Giants.

Yes I am, but I don't expect to get there until 5pm or so each day. I deal poker at River Spirit Casino and don't get off until 4pm.
