Matt - send a PM to nnbreeder or poultryand bees - off the top of my head I know those two can tell you who to send it to. Or call the county extension office - they should also be able to give you the info you need. Sorry you won't be at POOPS!

If I am not mistaken there will be someone at POOPS that will be testing birds that are bought going to NPIP test breeders....I am sure that you can get information from them.....Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks, but I won't be there this time.

You might have someone that can answer tomorrow. I know there were serveral off this thread that went to get certified (like they were already heehee). I am sure they can tell you. I would hate to say what I think I understood from them talking.....

Sooner get a great nights rest gonna be a long funfilled weekend!!!!!

I think that I am gonna turn in as well to all that are going to be unable to make it to POOPS I am sure that there will be enough people there that we can get you updated!!! And to everyone else we will either see you Friday or Saturday!!!

Whirlwind - Thanks for the warning ont he pigflu. Several people in Chickasha have it too. I'm not too worried about it. If I get it, I get it. Its the least of my worries right now. Lol

How is everyone? I know we had quite a few sickies on the board. Hope everyone's got better in time for POOPS!

I am still around just packing up some last minute items and slicing a couple of big ole Hams, I will catch a few fine looking laying Hens for some lucky folksand a bunch of chicks and hatching eggs in the morning and then I am off to the big POOPS event. I will be setting up some thing's tomorrow at the clubhouse getting ready for Saturday. I will be in and out till at least midnight.

Good Morning all :
Well we are really down to the wire on POOPS 2009 , 1 day. If you have any last minute Questions or arrangements that need to made please try and post them today. There will be a laptop at POOPS so we can address any last minute concerns from the KOA site.

A few last minute annoucements :
1. We are still in need of some tables that can be used outside for various displays & raffles, so if you have a table that you can spare it would be great if you could bring them.

2. If you have not yet posted what you are bringing for the pot luck meals please contact Carah/Sooner with your contributions. We have over 50 people who plan to attend who have not yet pledged a dish, we really need to have enough to feed all our folks for 2 meals. We have in excess of 120 or more planning to attend.

3. If you plan to Bid at any of the Actions please bring enough small bill change, sometimes there is a change shortage.

4. When you first arrive please visit our welcome table where you can sign-in and get your name tags and Program itinerary of the day's events.

5. There will be absolutely no parking in or near the clubhouse circle, those with things such as birds/cages/food and larger or numerous items, can pull up, unload and then park in the designated POOPS parking area. parking is critical to the flow and to prevent any congestion of our event.

6. Those members that have Items for the 2 auctions and Raffles are asked to check them in at the auction & raffle areas when they arrive, so that people can view the items prior to bidding.

Ok so please plan to come early and stay late and have plenty of fun meeting your BYC online friends and enjoying all the chickens/poultry/food and fun that we have painstakenly planned for your enjoyment.

Matt, Your county extension office might know someone in your area.
We had several people from our group take the class and were certified last summer.
The only person I know in your part of the state is Bill Baily and he is from Tahlequah. He is here this weekend so I will ask him if he knows any other testers over that way.

Grace - I will get it tomorrow, if the feed store received it today as scheduled. When I called them on Wednesday, they didn't have any but were expecting a shipment today. It is close to my office, so not an inconvenience. Looking forward to visiting with you

Glad you are going to come to POOPS - that will allow us to start enabling any hatching, poultry, or auction addictions you have - right from the beginning of our acquaintance.

NPIP testing is done through the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. The first time you have your birds NPIP tested, they usually send out an employee of the Department of Agriculture, since they have to test every bird if you have less than 300 birds (I think that is the magic number before they just test a percentage of the birds) All birds over the age of 4 months get tested.

Call Marie at the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. 405-521-3864 to make arrangements to have your birds tested.
