Gerald will be bringing some haching eggs to the Blanchard auction. I believe he'll bring a dozen Naked Neck (Turken) eggs and some Blue/Black/Splash Jersey Giant eggs.

I'm not going to the Jones auction today after all ... not enough time to gather some birds. I got Monty's buff orp pullets ready, but I'll just have to take them to him during next week. SO SORRY! I guess I'll go to the Blanchard auction since we live so close to it, and that way Gerald won't buy something without my knowledge!

s the Jones auction pretty good, I have never been there, are there normally a good variety of birds? I was able to pick up a blue slate tom today at another auction, I'll get some pictures when I have time.

HennyPennies2007, like you have been told, the first two are OEGBs. The third one is a partridge or golden laced Wyandotte (may be crossed). The fourth one is a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.

Hi everyone, we are looking for fertil duck and chicken eggs close to Moore, okla. We are wanting to try to hatch out some eggs for the first time.

I might have some, depending on the specifics.

LOL...well, I went back and looked at them, and I'd have to agree with you. Very good eye there! I'm just not experienced in Wyandottes of any size..

At least I got the OEGB's right!

I went to the Jones auction tonight.
Here is my assessment.
It was an unbelievable sellers market.
Except for some game pullets, every hen and pullet went for $10 and up some as high as $15 each.
Cages of mixed roosters sold for $5 or $6 each.
The most amazing thing was on a box of one dozen baby chicks.
They didn't say what kind and only showed one of them, which was black.
They brought and I am not lying $4.50 each.
They had very few cages and stuff to sell.
It took about an hour to sell the poultry. There wasn't a lot but still a fair amount.
There were no delays and everything moved along at a nice clip.
I left after the poultry sold and they still had a few pigs and about 20 goats to sell.
I thought it was ran very well.
The only eggs they sold were for eating although they said they were hatching eggs but you could eat them if you want.
They will have to be more specific when they start having hatching eggs there.

I went to the Blanchard auction tonight. I haven't been to an auction in too many years to know if the market was good or bad because I have nothing to compare it to.

I saw a trio of Golden Sebrights bring $45. I was impressed with that.

I talked to Jim Evans and he said he will be re-opening the Lexington poultry auction with a fish fry on November 1st. The day before we all go vote.

Well we just left the Blanchard auction, and there were a lot more birds there than it sounds like they had at Jones. Guinea chicks were selling as low as $1.25, roosters were selling as low as 50 cents each, and pullets as low as a couple of dollars each. We did OK, except our turken hatching eggs and jersey giant eggs didn't even sell for as much as what we sell them for eating. We were disappointed with that, and probably won't take hatching eggs there again. We sold some lionhead rabbits for $22 each though, so that was nice! There were some birds that did sell high though, but most sold for very low prices.

I guess we should have sold at the Jones auction!

There were 15 to 20 turkeys at the Blanchard auction this time. From what I recall, there was one bourbon red, 3 royal palm, 1 Narragansett, and the rest were mixed breeds, and someone sold mixed turkey eggs ... I think there were 3 dozen turkey eggs.
