Hi City, Stimpy, and Sooner. How are you guys? I just caught up from the weekend posts, I don't know if I'm going be able to keep up with this thread or not. I hope that everyone and their birds get over the sicks. Nice coop work everybody and nice worms Henny.

Hey Stimpy! The weather today in Tulsa today is bipolar with a 40% chance of psychotic episodes. It was raining when I got up this morning, windy and spitting on me when I went out to do chores, and now it's still windy but can't decide whether to be sunny or gray.

I want it to be sunny and rain at the same time. I spread rye grass seed Sunday. My chickens are mad at me because I won't let them out of their run until the rye sprouts - they love to eat the seeds! Every time I go outside they start yelling at me.

How are you today?

Hi Miss City, I bought lots of stuff lol , No chickens tho, I didn't even make it to dog alley. My friends I was with are definatly not into the chickens or old stuff. I am going back with my DH and we will get to do my kind of shopping. Lots of people. You could not stir them with a stick. Untill Sunday and it had rained all night and all morning. Some of the shopping got under water. Not to many shoppers then.

Hey Kevin - good to see you! How are things in your neck of the woods...I mean, desert?

Hey, I've got a tree (1) in my backyard. Great weather, sunny, low 80's and 50's overnight. Could always use some rain though, but I'll just keep watering my tree and not hold my breath. I have gotten sandblasted by wind some lately, especially last week when one day was high 90's and the next was low 70's. Otherwise, too much to do and not near enough time. I've been trying to encourage posting POOPS recipes to the thread cause I heard about some of the good stuff, but I think that it might be POOPS hangover time still.

I'm not sure what advice you're looking for. Is it for cochins or silkies? Both like to roost, but the silkies need lower roosts. I like to use treated 2" x 2" (because their edges are smooth) or natural branches other than cedar.

HTH

My silkies won't roost. they will only get on top of a milk crate. I don't want them on the ground so I just let them.

How how for bantam cochins?? You can see the pic's of the new coop, I was thinking 5-10 inches?

Some of my silkies don't roost either, but once they try it, they like it. I'd think at least 10" for the cochins. They'll roost much higher that that with more room, but I think the small space of your wonderful coop would limit them . If the silkies are in with them, you may well find silkies on the roosts also.

I don't have bantam cochins anymore, but used to have quite a few.
