I would like to see if I can find some Serama's or Serama hatching eggs. Showgirls, japs, and frizzles.

You certainly can't tell by looking at you or watching you work.
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, Al, and I wonder if that door did more damage than we thought. Hope it gets better on its own. Keep us posted.

You know that butchering favor you did me? It looks like I'm going to be able to "pay it forward" like the movie said. One of my neighbors has ended up with 9 roosters (I didn't know they had chickens!) and has never butchered before and wants me to help him and show him how it is done. Makes me feel good to be asked.

So, the Al Technique of Processing Chickens is about to be spread yet further across the land!

Al - So sorry to hear your eye isn't improving much.

Praying that it all works out for you and that you are better soon.

shidalgo and cleochick - I had trouble getting my newest avatar to work right. I ended up using this website: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/ After it makes the pic, save it to your desktop and then upload it. Remember that avatars have to be no bigger than 100 x 100 pixels.

Anyone know anything about blooming bushes? Our hydrangea bloomed beautifully last year, and this year grew much smaller and did not bloom. We didn't cut it back or anything.

Also, we have a double Azalea that is WAY out of control. I've read alot saying that if we cut it back now, it will not bloom next season. Which is ok, but if we cut it to the ground, will it survive??

Wow, he's super nice!

Thank you. I'm a relative newby compared to some of the breeders around, but I'm pretty proud of my birds too.

Stimpy :

Perhaps we could exchange some Hatching eggs from flocks this year/spring. I am planning on getting some good prospects from this Terry Britt bred cock and the rocks I got this yr. I would like to incorperate some of your fine looking stock into mine. What do you think.

I would like to know this too, I think I have also seen BR .....

BR is probably just the breed Barred Rock, but there is also a variety called Brown Red seen in Old English.
BB Red is a variety mostly seen in Old English called Black Brested Red.

The bird would be blue or black or splash. It gets a little tricky.... The way the blue gene works (unless it's "Self") is to produe chicks that are blue, black, or splash. So, if you had birds that were blue (unless it was self blue), birds that were splash, or birds that were black (if they were carrying the blue gene), your chicks could come out as any variety of those colors. Now, there is a chart to figure out which percentages of chicks would be which colors, but it really only applies if you are hatching hundreds, not small numbers, of chicks. The reason some people call these birds blue/black/splash (B/B/S) is because if you were for example buying hatching eggs from their pair of blue birds, but you hatched some chicks that were black or splash, it would not come as a surprise.
Yes, it's very confusing
