Funny you should mention temperment on those EEs Ronnie....I was just thinking today mine should be EEEs Evil easter eggers!!! Dang they are throwing their weight around...I told them they better just get to laying eggs...My axe is really sharp right now!!

I would travel can you put chickens in a large dog crate or is that considered a bad thing?

is it best for a beginer like me to start with full grown chicks or babies... if i get babies will they grow up around the farm with a better tempermant?

In my experience with baby chicks, MOST are wild. They dont like being petted. After several weeks and them finaly learning I fill the feed and water bowl they are happy to see me. I cant say everyone has that experience but I always do. Then when I turn them out they will fallow me around the yard until I feed them. Or if I get near the food containers outside they come flying and sqawking from whereever they are foraging. They still may not like to be picked up but at least they arent lunatics.

earlybird type person - I would suggest getting about 2 dozen of every age bird...that way folks thinkyou know what you are doing and ask for your advice and then you get to make stuff up!!! check back and see discussion on why chicken poop is good for the grass but the grass doesn't grow in the chicken yard

Well maybe i can travel your way... if you promise to keep me advised on various breeds so i do not get to breeds that kill each other... like a gold fish VS. a beta... if that happens in the chicken world...

I have a large dog... Harold.... so i have a large carrier... even though he never rides in it.. spoiled thing... but he is also my best friend
